In a new preview clip posted by Fox TV today, Gracepoint stars David Tennant and Anna Gunn talk about their respective characters, Detectives Emmett Carver and Ellie Miller, and the fraught relationship between the pair.

Gracepoint explores the events in a small northern Californian town after an eleven year old boy is found murdered on the local beach. Leading the investigation into the crime is Det. Emmett Carver, a newcomer to town who finds himself partnered with local cop Det. Ellie Miller. Thanks to their differing approaches to their work, and that Carver took the position that Ellie was expecting to be promoted into there are plenty of personality clashes.

"Immediately there's a bit of tension between Ellie and Carver, " explains David.

In a short preview clip released today, Dan Futterman and John Goldwyn, producers of the new Fox TV murder mystery Gracepoint describe what it is about the characters of the series that make it so watchable.

Gracepoint is a whodunnit centring on the murder of an eleven year old local boy in a small community in northern California. It's up to the local police detective team of Emmett Carver (David Tennant) and Ellie Miller (Anna Gunn) to find the killer, who could be someone close to the victim.

"You know...all those people we've just met," explains Dan Futterman, "It's probably one of them that's responsible for this."

"I think the thing that will make Gracepoint destination television is the characters," adds John Goldwyn.

David Tennant, star of the new Fox TV event series Gracepoint is the focus of a short promo clip released today.

In the clip David describes what viewers can expect in the series which premieres in October. Gracepoint explores the events following the discovery of the body of a young boy on the beach near a quiet coastal town in California.

"It's the story of the investigation of that murder, alongside the story of that boy's family, alongside the story of the whole community really," he explains.



Gracepoint, a brand new ten part event series, will premiere on Fox on Thursday 2nd October at 9pm/8c.

David Tennant's audiobook version of the James Bond classic spy novel On Her Majesty's Secret Service is available now from Audible.com in the United States.

Originally released in the UK in 2012, the recording was part of an ambitious joint production between Ian Fleming Publications and the now defunct AudioGo to record all of Fleming's James Bond novels as part of the 007 Reloaded collection. The series, which took three years to prepare, involved some of the cream of the UK's acting talent including Damian Lewis, Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy and Hugh Bonneville. Gracepoint, the new ten-part event series from Fox, follows the investigation into the murder of a young boy in a sleepy coastal town. The drama is adapted from the award winning UK series Broadchurch in which David also starred. The ensemble cast also includes Anna Gunn, Nick Nolte, Sarah-Jane Potts, Jacki Weaver, Michael Peña and Josh Hamilton. 

Gracepoint premieres on Fox in the USA and the Global Network in Canada on Thursday 2nd October at 9pm ET.

Rising Canadian star Jack Irvine speaks about his Gracepoint character Tom Miller, describing him as an innocent and a bit of a mystery who is scared to tell about what he knows or what he has seen. Tom is the oldest son of Ellie (Anna Gunn), the assistant detective on the investigation into Danny's death, and Joe (Josh Hamilton), a stay-at-home husband who does most of the caring for Tom and his baby brother Dylan.

Talking in a new clip just released by Fox TV, Vancouver native Jack describes how Tom and murder victim Danny were close, almost like brothers. The moment that Ellie informs him of Danny's death is a huge moment for the schoolboy.

"At the moment he realises that [Danny is] dead I think he's sad but he's also a bit kind of scared," explains Jack. "Is he in danger of anything?"

UK actress Sarah-Jane Potts profiles Gemma Fisher, her character in the upcoming Fox TV series Gracepoint in a brand new promo clip.

Sarah-Jane stars alongside fellow Brit David Tennant in the remake of the hit UK series Broadchurch which is due to hit US TV screens next month. While David reprises his role as lead investigator in a shocking murder case, Sarah-Jane, sporting a dramatic blonde hairstyle, takes on the role of Gemma, the English owner of the town's only hotel.

"She's a little bit of a cheerful misfit," says Sarah-Jane of Gemma, whose business is struggling but who is determined to make a success of it. " She's the trouble maker, she doesn't mean to be...I feel like she has a really good heart."

Actor Joe Sims has updated the Broadchurch cast Ice Bucket Challenge video with to new clips of his co-stars taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge.

First up is Jodie Whittaker (Beth Latimer) taking a soaking in a bathtub after nominating actors Thomas Mison and Rebekah Staton and her osteopath.

The first series of radio sitcom The Gobetweenies starring David Tennant and Sarah Alexander will be repeated on Sundays on BBC Radio 4 Extra starting from this weekend.

The series by Marcella Evaristi follows looks at life in North London through the eyes of Tom and Lucy Miller (Finlay Christie and Phoebe Abbott), the children of divorced couple Joe (David Tennant) and Mimi (Sarah Alexander) as they share their time out between their parents. The series also stars Stuart Milligan as Harry.

David Tennant has expressed his aspirations for his new Fox TV drama Gracepoint the American remake of the award winning Broadchurch in which he also starred. David plays Emmett Carver, a similar role to Broadchurch cop Alec Hardy, though now a Californian police detective investigating the murder of a child in a small coastal community.

While there have been voices questioning the need to remake such a series as Broadchurch for the American market, it remains a fact that on its US broadcast on BBC America, audience figures were low, even by the cable channel's standards. Fox taking the option to remake rather than rebroadcast is not an unusual one, but the outcome is not always assured. Cracker and Prime Suspect were notable failures; however, The Office has proved to be a ratings winner. What is unusual is the inclusion of an original cast member in the remake. This does not guarantee success, of course: the American version of The IT Crowd never got past the pilot stage, despite…

Taking part in today's challenge were Joe Sims, Arthur Darvill, Jonathan Bailey, Jodie Whittaker, Carolyn Pickles, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Tanya Franks and previously unannounced cast member Meera Syal. The cast nominated series creator Chris Chibnall, producer Jane Featherstone and the casts of Call The Midwife and Critical for the next challenge. The Broadchurch cast and crew were nominated by their own Director of Photography, Jon Conroy.

Andrew Buchan undertook out his own solo soaking, nominating Eddie Redmayne, Matt Smith and one of his old university friends for the next round.
