David Tennant Wins TV Times Award For His Performance In Des

David Tennant has been named the winner of the TV Times Favourite Actor Award for his gripping performance of real-life serial killer Dennis Nilsen in the ITV drama Des. The TV Times 2020 Awards launched in September and were voted on by readers of the UK listings magazine. David saw off some tough competition from the likes of Michael Sheen, Martin Compston and Ralph Little.  David, who is currently filming Around The World In 80 Days in Romania, said of his prize, "Thank you, TV Times. I am very honoured by this. I worked on Des with so many incredible people, and over such a long time. It's not an easy story to tell - I am so pleased and proud that it connected with the audience. Thank you." Yesterday, New Pictures Ltd, the producers of Des, tweeted that the show's 28-day consolidated ratings of 12 million views make it ITV's highest rated show of 2020. UK: David Tennant Narrates Music Documentaries On BBC Four Tonight

Two David Tennant-narrated music documentaries will make up part of BBC Four's celebration of Scottish musicians tonight. Both programmes have previously aired on BBC Scotland and BBC Four. From 9.30pm, music fans can enjoy Gerry Rafferty: Right Down The Line, and hour-long Artworks Scotland documentary from 2011 celebrating the life of one of Scotland's best loved singer/songwriters. Rafferty, who died in January 2011, was famous around the world for hits such as Baker Street and Stuck in the Middle With You. The programme tells the story of Rafferty's life through his often autobiographical songs and includes contributions from Gerry's daughter Martha and brother Jim, friends and colleagues including Billy Connolly, John Byrne and Joe Egan, admirers such as Tom Robinson and La Roux, and words and music from Rafferty himself. David Tennant has donated props from the Doctor Who Christmas special, The Runaway Bride, to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children's Hospices.   He has handed over his personal collection of Tenth Doctor ten pound notes that were created for the show and has even signed them for The Celebrity Bottom Drawer Auction.  Griff Rhys Jones organised the event and has been asking his network of celebrities to donate their treasures and quirky personalised items for the week-long auction which begins today. The channel was set up earlier this year to bring show tunes, backstage access and full performances from some of the best loved production in history straight into your home. Featuring the best of musical theatre and beyond, The Shows Must Go On! adds some classic Shakespearean performances to its repertoire.  The season continues this week with a reading of a selection of famous Shakespeare sonnets by a full line-up of stars, including David Tennant, recorded in 2012.  You have until Monday to watch this particular production, and it’s available entirely free of charge on YouTube. David Tennant Contributes To The Story Of Christmas Annual Charity Carol Service

David Tennant will be one of a host of stars taking part in The Story Of Christmas, an annual charity appeal raising funds for disadvantaged children and the homeless.  The Story of Christmas is a charity carol service which usually takes place each year at St George’s Hanover Square in Central London. This year, in view of the pandemic crisis, the event will move online as a magical, star-studded video carol concert. The concert will be released via YouTube on Wednesday 16th December for everyone to enjoy at home, with viewers urged to support The Story of Christmas via their JustGiving Page. There will also be an online charity auction launching on Wednesday 2nd December and concluding at 11pm on Wednesday 16th December when the successful bidders will be revealed. David Tennant Voices Short Film For New Mobile Streaming App Alexander

David Tennant is one of an all-star cast of actors contributing audio performances to a new streaming app, Alexander. Alexander is the new home for original international non-fiction stories, created by the world’s best storytellers, read by A-list acting talent and accompanied by a super short film interpretation by a celebrated filmmaker.  A new English-language feature is released on the app to subscribers every fortnight. The audience can toggle between the written text and the audio performance within the story. Alexander has been conceived and created by veteran film producer Cameron Lamb. Awards Win For Staged As Dan Gage Picks Up Editing Prize

Congratulations to Staged editor Dan Gage who has won the Editing - Entertainment and Comedy in the RTS Craft & Design Awards for his work on the critically acclaimed BBC comedy. The winners were announced via an online celebration hosted by radio broadcaster, actor and spoken word artist Mim Shaikh, with a special message from RTS Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales. The jury felt that Dan's work showed a "...witty, joyous and clever use of technology, this pushed the boundaries of what great editing can achieve." Staged is the brainchild of writer and director Simon Evans who conceived the comedy as a means to work around the restrictions imposed on film and TV production in the first UK lockdown. David Tennant and Michael Sheen star as exaggerated versions of themselves alongside Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg, Nina Sosanya, Simon Evans and Lucy Eaton. The reason behind Scrooge McDuck's hatred of Santa Claus will be revealed in this year's DuckTales Christmas episode, How Santa Stole Christmas! The festive episode stars David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck and guest stars Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, W1A) as Santa, a huge polar bear with a natty moustache.  How Santa Stole Christmas! premieres on Monday 30th November at 7pm ET/PT on Disney XD in the USA and on Sunday 13th December at 11.30am ET on Disney Channel in Canada. David Tennant and Michael Sheen are set to guest on The Graham Norton Show on Friday 18th December on a BBC One. The pair who have starred opposite one another in Good Omens and Staged are appearing to promote the much anticipated second series of the lockdown comedy.  They will join George Clooney, Viola Davis and Vanessa Kirby and music will be provided by Alfie Boe and Michael Ball.  The episode will also be shown on BBC America at a later date. David Tennant has sent a message of support from the set of his new drama, Around The World In 80 Days,  for Headway Essex’s Christmas 35 Campaign.  Watch it below:  The charity offers support to adults living with acquired brain injury and celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2020, a year that has been challenging worldwide for charitable organisations. To try to end the year on a positive note, the Colchester-based organisation has just launched its Christmas fundraiser with a little help from its patron, David Tennant.  David Tennant became involved with Headway Essex in 2006 when researching for his character in the BBC television drama Recovery. David played a building site manager who suffers a debilitating brain injury in a car crash and visited the day care centre in Colchester to learn more about the devastating impact of such injuries on individuals and their families.  In their new campaign, Headway Essex are asking our supporters to either raise or donate £35 to the charity

BELGIUM: Deadwater Fell Premieres On Eén In December

Deadwater Fell, the gripping psychological thriller starring David Tennant, will premiere on Eén in Belgium in December. The drama, which also stars Cush Jumbo, Anna Madeley and Matthew McNulty, was created and written by Daily Coulam and originally aired on Channel 4 in the UK. Deadwater fell will be shown in Belgium as two 90 minute episodes starting on Friday 4th December from 20.35. Filmed entirely on location in Scotland, Deadwater Fell is set in the small fictional town of Kirkdarroch. David Tennant stars as Tom Kendrick, the local GP, a trusted, admired and much-liked member of the community, a doting father to three little girls and a loving husband to Kate, played by Anna Madeley.
