David Tennant Named Best Actor In Digital Spy Awards

David Tennant has been named as Best TV Actor in the 2020 Digital Spy Reader Awards for his appearance as Dennis Nilsen in the ITV series Des. The three part drama was written by Luke Neal, based on the book Killing For Company by Brian Masters, and was directed by Lewis Arnold.  David said of his win, "It means so much to me that it's connected with audiences - I can't tell you how thrilled I am to receive this, thank you everyone who voted." New Tenth Doctor Audio Adventure ‘The Minds of Magnox’ Out Now

Doctor Who: The Minds of Magnox is  released on CD and digital download today.  The audio story is available to  order now on Amazon .co.uk and Amazon.com , and will be available to purchase globally from Audible and Amazon.  It will be released on vinyl by  Demon Records  tomorrow, marking the first simultaneous publication of a BBC Audio title across CD, digital and vinyl formats. The CD and digital editions will also feature a short Coda to the story.  In this original story, the Doctor travels with Brian, the Ood assassin, to the planet Magnox, one of the greatest receptacles of knowledge the universe has ever known, and home to the Minds of Magnox. David Tennant To Guest On TV Tribute To Richard Wilson

David Tennant is set to guest star in a  celebration of the career of the country’s most famous grumpy pensioner, Richard Wilson on BBC Scotland later this month. Better known as playing Victor Meldrew in One Foot in the Grave, Richard Wilson’s rise to becoming one of our most-loved comedy performers nearly didn’t happen. He talks about his humble beginnings as a lab technician from Greenock to becoming one of the most recognisable faces in Britain, and how he nearly turned down the role of a lifetime. Richard is also one of theatre’s most respected directors and a relentless supporter of new writing talent. Featuring a special interview with Richard and other key people from his enduring career, including David Tennant and Arabella Weir, The Moments That Made.. Richard Wilson airs on a BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday 23rd December at 10pm. 

DuckTales To End After “Epic Season 3 Final’ In 2021

Sad news for fans of David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, as Disney have announced that there will be no further series of DuckTales.  “The talented creative team, led by Matt Youngberg and Francisco Angones, have delivered exceptional storytelling with uniquely reimagined characters for three seasons of 75 episodes and more than 15 shorts,” a Disney XD spokesperson said in a statement. “While physical production is wrapping,  DuckTales  continues to be available daily on Disney Channels and Disney+ around the world and fans will get an epic season finale in 2021.” The Emmy Award nominated show is on its third season and has just aired this year’s Christmas special in the USA and Canada. There She Goes, the comedy series starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes, has been named Best Returning Comedy-Drama Series in the C21 2020 International Drama Awards. The BBC Two series follows a family's experiences raising a daughter with a severe learning disability and is based on the real-life experiences of writers Shaun Pye and Sarah Crawford, whose own daughter lives with an undiagnosed chromosomal disorder.  There She Goes co-stars Miley Locke and Edan Hayhurst, with recurring appearances from Ben Willbond, Yasmin Akram, Nigel Planer, Serena Evans and Philip Jackson. The series is directed by Simon Hynd and produced by Clelia Mountford for Merman Television. David Tennant Joins ‘Maggie’s Carols On Your Couch’ Online Concert Tomorrow Night

David Tennant will be joining a special fundraising event tomorrow night in aid of national cancer care charity Maggie's. Maggie's in Scotland have launched the inaugural Maggie's Carols On Your Couch singalong concert, a fun-packed festive event involving festive music, a specially filmed sequence by two of Scotland's most popular panto stars, and a host of musicians, singers plus readings by some famous Scottish favourites.  Joining David will be X Factor star Caitlyn Vanbeck and former Blue Peter presenter and author Janet Ellis. In addition, actors Andy Gray and Grant Stott, unable to perform in their usual pantomime this year, have filmed an exclusive festive sketch from the stage of the King's Theatre, Edinburgh. The event is especially meaningful for Andy Gray who has battled blood cancer and received support himself from Maggie's.  The concert starts at 7.30pm GMT on Thursday 3rd December. USA: DuckTales Season 3 Festive Special 'How Santa Stole Christmas!' Premieres On Disney XD Tonight

Season three of the Emmy Award-nominated DuckTales continues tonight in the USA with a brand new episode, How Santa Stole Christmas! The festive episode stars David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck and guest stars Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, W1A) as Santa, a huge polar bear with a natty moustache. Scrooge teams up with his archrival, Santa Claus, to save Christmas, while Webby discovers the true history behind their infamous feud. How Santa Stole Christmas! premieres tonight at 7pm ET/PT on Disney XD in the USA and on Sunday 13th December at 11.30am ET on Disney Channel in Canada.
