UK: Staged Cover Art & Extras Revealed For DVD Release

More details have been released about the upcoming DVD released of Staged, including a first look at its cover art. The hit lockdown comedy show was written and directed by Simon Evans and stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen as exaggerated versions of themselves. The double-disc release will include extended episodes of both series of Staged along with exclusive outtakes. It also comes with a reversible sleeve so you can decide yourself which star gets top billing on your copy.   Staged Series 1 and 2 is released on Monday 15th February. USA: Des Starring David Tennant To Have DVD & Blu-ray Release In March

The real-crime drama Des, starring David Tennant as UK serial killer Dennis Nilsen, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the USA on Tuesday 16th March. Co-starring Daniel Mays and Jason Watkins, Des focuses on one of the most infamous criminal cases in UK history. The three-part series is based on the book Killing For Company by Brian Masters and premiered on ITV in the UK last year.  Known as the ‘kindly killer’, Nilsen (David Tennant) was a local civil servant who spent five years murdering vulnerable and often homeless boys and young men he met on the streets of Soho from 1978 to 1983. He would meet and befriend these men before offering them food or lodgings for the evening back at his North London flat. When he was finally caught on 9 February 1983, Nilsen had murdered a total of fifteen men over a period of five years, making him Britain’s most prolific serial killer of the time.  The story is told through the prism of three isolated men - Detective Peter Jay (Daniel Mays), who

David Tennant has been announced as one of the cast for a new animated film, The Loud House Movie  produced by Nickelodeon for Netflix. The Loud House  is an American  animated television series  created by  Chris Savino  for  Nickelodeon .  The series revolves around the chaotic everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud, who is the middle child and only son in a large family of 11 children. The Loud House Movie sees the biggest family on television go on the biggest Loud family vacation ever! The adventure follows the Loud family to Scotland where they discover that they are descendants of Scottish royalty. The family quickly indulges in the most wish-fulfilling high-life ever when they discover their ancestral home is a castle. UK: Staged ‘Woofty Doofty, David’ Premieres On BBC One Tonight

The new series of Staged continues on BBC One tonight at 9.45pm.  The full series is also available to stream on BBC iPlayer.  This series sees David Tennant and Michael Sheen attempt to navigate their ‘new normal’ at home with their increasingly exasperated families whilst simultaneously trying to tackle the world of ‘virtual Hollywood’ and their ever more fragile egos. Also returning for the new series are Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg and Lucy Eaton alongside Nina Sosanya and Simon Evans with new addition to the regular cast Primetime Emmy-winner Ben Schwartz, playing the assistant to Michael and David’s American agent. Following on from the surprise appearances in series one of Judi Dench and Samuel L Jackson this series sees the regulars joined in their virtual hell by a whole host of unexpected guests. The series hopes to capture our shared feelings of frustration and confusion at a world not quite ready to re-open. Moments that promise normality dashed before they can take hold

Staged has reached the finals of the Comedy.co.uk Awards 2020, with the second round of voting now open on the British Comedy Guide website. The hugely acclaimed lockdown comedy Staged, starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen as exaggerated versions of themselves, launched in June last year, with a second series starting on BBC One last week. The series follows David and Michael as they navigate the boredom and stresses of lockdown while supposedly rehearsing a play via Zoom. The series also stars Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg, Lucy Eaton, Nina Sosanya and series writer and creator Simon Evans. Staged is nominated in the Best New TV Sitcom category and can also be named as Comedy Of The Year. The annual Comedy.co.uk Awards, now in their 15th year, are 100% determined by a public vote, with tens of thousands of comedy fans voting for their favourites from among the hundreds of different comedies were broadcast on TV and radio in the UK each year.
