It's A Wrap For Nativity 2

Filming on Nativity 2 drew to a close last night with final scenes taking place in Stratford-upon-Avon. David Tennant and Joanna Page shot scenes in the town centre, outside a shoe shop that had been redressed as a children's clothes shop. They were also seen pushing a double buggy, implying that their characters, The Petersons, may be the parents of twins.  Local man Nick Payne watched the filming for a while and posted some pictures to Twitter. Catherine Tate: Laughing At The 00s

David Tennant will be one of the guest interviewees on a two-hour show hosted by Catherine Tate which celebrates the best comedy of the 'Noughties'. The review of the decade also includes contributions from Alan Carr, David Walliams, Noel Fielding, Rob Brydon, Leigh Francis, Dom Joly, Miranda Hart, Lee Mack and Mathew Horne. Prefaces To Shakespeare

David Tennant will be one of the hosts of Prefaces To Shakespeare, included in the BBC's Shakespeare season that is part of its range of programmes celebrating the London 2012 Festival and the Cultural Olympiad. In the words of the BBC Press Release : "Hosted by some of our great actors including David Tennant, Derek Jacobi and Ethan Hawke, the Prefaces To Shakespeare will reveal the characters within and uncover the stories behind some of Shakespeare’s greatest plays. It will unearth both the onstage drama and the backstage gossip of the golden age of British Theatre. In the process it will reveal the life and career of Shakespeare in a totally new way and find out what the plays and their characters can mean to people today, revealing how they still have the power to shock, to make us laugh – and even to break our hearts. A 116 Films and Blakeway Production for the BBC in association with WNET/Thirteen. " Broadcast details are not yet known.

Fright Date DVD: UK Release Date

Fright Night, starring David Tennant as Peter Vincent, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on 20th February 2012, two weeks later than the date of February 6th that was originally given. As with the US release, there will be three formats: DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Triple play Blu-ray pack. David's Doctor Who Costumes To Go For Auction

Several of the costumes worn by David Tennant during Series Three of Doctor Who are due to come under the hammer soon at Bonhams auction house in Knightsbridge, London . The costumes are all from the Human Nature / Family Of Blood two-part story that saw the Doctor hiding out from an alien threat by taking human form and living as schoolteacher John Smith in England during 1913. The lots include John Smith’s teaching clothes, his suit, an outdoor coat and hat and his pyjamas and dressing gown. The auction also includes costumes worn by other characters during David’s tenure as the Doctor, plus items relating to stories featuring Chris Eccleston and Matt Smith in the role. The auction takes place at Bonhams in Knightsbridge on December 15 th 2011, starting at 1pm. For a look at all the items in the sale, check the Bonhams website . David’s items start from Lot 173.

National Galleries Of Scotland: Hot Scots Webpage

The National Galleries of Scotland now have a webpage dedicated to their Hot Scots photographic exhibition which opens at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on December 1st. As we reported last week  Zed Nelson's portrait of David will be included in the show. The exhibition listing can be found here . Two David Tennant Projects Nominated In Broadcast Awards

Two productions involving David Tennant have been shortlisted in the Broadcast Awards 2012. United, written by Chris Chibnall and starring David as Jimmy Murphy, has been nominated in the Best Single Drama category.   The film which tells the story of the 1958 Munich Air Disaster that stole the lives of many of   the young Manchester United FC team, co-starred Jack O’Connell and Dougray Scott. David also provided a couple of voices for the Aardman animated feature The Itch Of The Golden Nit, a film created by children for children, which is nominated in the Best Children’s Programme category. David Tennant Interviewed On The Nativity 2 Set

CBBC news programme Newsround were in Stratford-upon-Avon earlier today as reporter and presenter Joe Tidy recorded interviews with cast members, including David Tennant and Marc Wootton. Although the interviews cannot be shown until next November, ahead of the proposed release of the film, Joe posted a couple of photos, one of the film set and one of his chat with David. Joe was very complementary about David, tweeting: “David Tennant was a hero. Very funny and honest! The Decoy Bride To Have A Cinematic Release

David Tennant’s comedy The Decoy Bride appears to have been scheduled for a UK cinematic release at last. According to , the official website of the Film Distributors’ Association, CinemaNX will be releasing the film on Friday 9 th March, 2012, just a few days before the listed DVD release on March 12 th . The romantic comedy, which has so far only been shown theatrically in Italy and Russia , also stars Alice Eve, Kelly MacDonald and Michael Urie, and was directed by Sheree Folkson.

David Tennant returns to BBC Radio 4 with another selection of chilling Vampire stories. These five tales enter the 20th century and introduce stories with a little twist from the UK and USA. The above photograph of David is to be included in a new collection at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, The Herald reports: New portraits of some of Scotland’s most famous faces are to be unveiled at the refurbished Scottish National Portrait Gallery, when it re-opens next month. Photographs of Scots including actors Sir Sean Connery, David Tennant and Karen Gillan and singer Paolo Nutini are among the images to be displayed in the gallery when it opens to the public on December 1 .

Nativity 2 Updates

There's been quite a few updates regarding David's latest film project Nativity 2 over the past few days or so. Firstly the film's full title has finally been revealed as Nativity 2: The Second Coming. It's also been revealed that David will be taking on the role or should that be roles of the Mr Peterson twins, twin teachers who are embroiled in a rivalry that leads to all sorts of comedy capers at a Christmas singing competition! David will be joined in the cast by Pam Ferris, Sheridan Smith, Marc Wooton and Joanna Page. The film is currently shooting in Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon and North Wales. BBC launches new Audio Drama Awards

From the BBC Press Office: Today sees the launch of the BBC Audio Drama Awards. The awards aim to celebrate and recognise the cultural importance of audio drama, on air and online, and to give recognition to the actors, writers, producers, sound designers, and others who work in the genre.
