David Tennant To Star As Alexander Litvinenko In New ITV Drama

David Tennant is to star as the former Russian Federal Security Services and KGB officer Alexander Litvinenko, in a new drama commissioned by ITV and the Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group). The four-part series, Litvinenko, focuses on the officer’s death, from polonium poisoning in November 2006, and the subsequent criminal investigation, one of the most complex and dangerous investigations in the history of the Metropolitan Police. Litvinenko was written by acclaimed screenwriter George Kay (Lupin, Criminal) to tell the story of the determined Scotland Yard Officers, many of whom supported the drama’s production, who worked for ten years to prove who was responsible. It also focuses upon the story of Marina, played by Margarita Levieva (The Deuce, The Blacklist), Alexander’s fearless, dignified widow who fought tirelessly to persuade the British Government to publicly name her husband’s killers and acknowledge the role of the Russian State in his murder. David Tennant has been talking about his new epic adventure series, Around The World In 80 Days, in the CANNESERIES Festival magazine to promote the World Premiere Screening which takes place on Sunday 10th October 2021 at the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumiere. Adapted from the classic Jules Verne novel, the eight-part series stars David Tennant as Phileas Fogg, a 19th Century gentleman and adventurer who, with his valet, Passepartout, played by rising French actor Ibrahim Koma, takes on the legendary journey of circumnavigating the globe in just 80 days following an outrageous bet. They are swiftly joined by aspiring journalist Abigail Fix, played by The Crown’s Leonie Benesch, who seizes the chance to report on this extraordinary story. David Tennant has voiced a new video for children's charity Theirworld, promoting the power of education and the need for global leaders to invest in the future of millions of children.  Theirworld is a global children's charity committed to ending the global education crisis and unleashing the potential of the next generation and campaigning that every child has the best start in life, a safe place to learn, and skills for the future. The non-profit was founded in 2002 by Sarah Brown, and became international in its outlook and reach in 2013. David Tennant & Projects Nominated In International Emmy Awards

David Tennant has been nominated for an International Emmy for his performance as UK serial killer Dennis Nilsen in the three-part drama Des. The acclaimed miniseries premiered on ITV in the UK last autumn. Earlier this month, David picked up a National Television Award for the role. The series follows the arrest and trial of Nilsen, who murdered numerous young men and boys in his North London homes during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Des itself has also been nominated in the TV Movie / Mini-Series category. Also up for a prize in the Drama Series category is the comedy-drama show There She Goes, in which David plays the father of a girl with a severe learning disability. David Tennant is one of the cast of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman for Audible. David takes on the role of Loki in the second instalment, The Sandman Act II which was released today. FINAL SPACE: Season 3 Comes To Netflix But It's The End Of The Journey For The Show

There's good news and bad news for fans of the animated series Final Space, created by and starring Olan Rogers and co-starring David Tennant.  The third season of the show, which has already aired on TBS and Adult Swim in the USA, will be available at last to an international audience when it arrives on Netflix on September 16th. Final space follows astronaut Gary and his alien buddy Mooncake as they traverse the galaxy with an eclectic bunch of companions. David voices The Lord Commander, an evil,adversary who is determined to get his hands on Mooncake for the awesome destructive power he possesses. Other cast members include Tika Sumpter, Coty Galloway and Steven Yuen. The bad news is that Season 3 will be the last of the series. David Tennant scooped the award for Best Drama Performance for his role as Dennis Nilsen in the true crime drama Des at last night's National Television Awards. David was presented with the trophy by his Good Omens and Staged co-star Michael Sheen. After being greeted by Michael on the stage, who pretended to accept the award himself, David told him 'I know how hard it was to hand that over'. He then joked 'I’m very sad you’re not up here receiving this award…though obviously not that sad, because I’m delighted.' He went on to thank ITV and everyone involved in the drama and praised them for helping to tell a story in a way which doesn't glorify serial killers.  Turning to his wife Georgia Tennant in the audience he said : 'On a personal note I want to thank Georgia and my family. David Tennant has been nominated as Best TV Actor in the Edinburgh TV Awards 2021 for his performance in the acclaimed ITV series Des. David played real-life serial killer Dennis Nilsen in the three-part drama, who murdered around a dozen young men and boys in his London homes between 1978 and 1983. The series itself is also nominated as Best Drama. The Edinburgh TV Awards, now in their 20th year, are the highlight of the annual Edinburgh TV Festival and celebrate outstanding talent and the breadth of creativity that the TV industry has to offer, both in the UK and abroad. Screening Starring David & Georgia Tennant Makes Official Selection In Discover Film Awards

The 2020 short Screening,  written and directed by Christian Brassington, has been accepted into the Official Selection for the Discover Film Awards 2021. The satirical film stars David Tennant, Georgia Tennant, Joanna Horton and Stephen Mangan. Filmed via remote technology during the UK's first lockdown last year, Screening takes us back to 2016, as a scientific advisor gets hit by the full farce of the government she’s trying to help. The all-star cast brilliantly bring to life the story of a disease expert who is wading through the treacle of government bureaucracy. Can she persuade the powers-that-be that we actually do need experts? And that ignoring the science can have deadly, global consequences...
