David Tennant To Take Part In The RSC’s Talking Shakespeare Event

David Tennant is to take part in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s new Talking Shakespeare event.
Talking Shakespeare is an exclusive series of online, live events for RSC SubscribersMembers and Patrons. With the theatres sadly closed, RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran has invited some very special guests and RSC Associate and Honorary Associate Artists to join him to talk about Shakespeare, their memories of the RSC and more. As well as David Tennant other guests will include Judi Dench, Ray Fearon, Harriet Walter, Patrick Stewart, Adjoa Andoh, Simon Russell Beale, Paterson Joseph and Alexandra Gilbreath, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets are free but The RSC ask you to consider making a £10 or more donation for each event to the Keep Your RSC Campaign. New Tenth Doctor Audio Adventure ‘The Minds of Magnox’ To Be Released As Part Of The Time Lord Victorious Story Arc

BBC Audio and Demon Records have today announced that they will be publishing a brand new Doctor Who audio story for the Tenth Doctor as part of the Time Lord Victorious multi-platform adventure.  Doctor Who: The Minds of Magnox will be released on CD and digital download by BBC Audio on 3rd December and will be released on vinyl by Demon Records on 4th December, marking the first simultaneous publication of a BBC Audio title across CD, digital and vinyl formats. The CD and digital editions will also feature a short Coda to the story.  The audio story is available to pre-order now on Amazon, and will be available to purchase globally from Audible and Amazon.  In this original story, the Doctor travels with Brian, the Ood assassin, to the planet Magnox, one of the greatest receptacles of knowledge the universe has ever known, and home to the Minds of Magnox. Vote For David Tennant In The 2020 TV Choice Awards

Voting is now open in the shortlist for the 2020 TV Choice Awards and David Tennant has been nominated yet again as Best Actor. This is the second and final round of voting in these awards and the poll will remain open until midnight on Friday 17th July.

David has been nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance as Tom Kendrick in the chilling Channel 4 drama series Deadwater Fell.

You can place your vote here.

The winners will be announced in the autumn, and this year, for the first time, you will be able to watch the winners' show via an online stream.

David has previously won the Best Actor category several times for his performances in Doctor Who, Broadchurch and Single Father.

David Tennant's recent comedy series Staged continues a repeat run on BBC One on tonight at 9.45pm, directly after the BBC's new six-part drama series The Secrets She Keeps. Episodes will air on Monday and Tuesday nights over three weeks in July. 

Based on an original idea by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn - Staged is written and directed by Evans and is an Infinity Hill/GCB Films production for BBC One. The series stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen, playing fictional versions themselves, with the premise that the pair were due to star in a production of Six Characters in Search of an Author in the West End. The pandemic has put paid to that, but their director (Simon Evans - also playing himself) is determined not to let the opportunity pass him by. He knows how big a chance this is for him and turns his attention to cajoling his stars into rehearsing over the internet. All they need to do is read the first scene, but throughout the series they come up against a multitude of op…

UK: Broadchurch Series 1 Episode 5 Repeated On ITV Tonight

Broadchurch continues its repeat run in the UK tonight on ITV at 10.45pm.
The eight part series first aired back in 2013 and went on to become multi award winning after earning praise from critics and TV audiences alike.  Broadchurch explores what happens to a small community in Dorset when it suddenly becomes the focus of a police investigation, following the tragic and mysterious death of an eleven year old boy under the glare of the media spotlight. In tonight’s episode: As Hardy and Ellie come under fire, the people of Broadchurch start to turn against each other. Will a vital new piece of evidence lead Ellie and Hardy to the killer?

Episode 6 will air on Sunday 12th July at 10.45pm.

There She Goes is a comedy-drama based on the real life experiences of writers Shaun Pye and Sarah Crawford, whose daughter was born with an extremely rare and, to date, undiagnosed chromosomal disorder.  The series follows the day-to-day life of Rosie Yates (Miley Locke), a severely learning disabled girl and her family; dad Simon (David Tennant), mum Emily (Bafta Award-winning Jessica Hynes) and older brother Ben (Edan Hayhurst), as they cope with everyday situations like encouraging her to talk and persuading her that not every day is Christmas. Series one, which debuted on BBC Four in 2018, chronicled the dual timeline of Rosie as a newborn and aged nine. This new series will be set around 18 months on and will focus on Rosie at the ages of three and 11. There She Goes begins on Thursday 9 July, 9.30pm on BBC Two.

David Tennant Series 'Around The World In 80 Days' To Resume Filming Soon

Production on David Tennant's new TV series, Around The World in 80 Days, which was suspended due to the coronavirus crisis, is due to resume shortly. Filming was taking place in South Africa when they were flown home in mid-March. David Tennant revealed recently that they had completed one and a half episodes when production halted.

The news was revealed by France Télévisions through their Twitter account.

David Tennant is hosting Sam’s Riverside Quiz Night tonight from 7pm.
The quiz, which is taking place on Zoom, is to help raise the profile of Sam’s Riverside restaurant voucher scheme and to encourage you to come and support them when they re-open their doors to the public.

David Tennant and Dame Judi Dench appeared on last night's episode of The Coronavirus Newscast on the BBC News channel to discuss the crisis facing the UK's theatres in the wake of the coronavirus lockdown.

More than 100,000 people have signed a government petition asking for further support for the arts during the pandemic. If you would like to sign the petition then you can do so here.

UK: David Tennant & Dame Judi Dench Discuss Theatre's Future On BBC News Tonight

David Tennant and Dame Judi Dench will be appearing on The Coronavirus Newscast on the BBC News channel tonight from 9.25pm BST. The actors will be discussing the crisis facing the UK's theatres in the wake of the coronavirus lockdown. 

Yesterday Dame Judi shared her fears that the Government's lack of support for the arts could spell an uncertain future for theatres, saying, “It’s a desperate feeling, and when will they ever open again? I don’t know, certainly, I’m sure not in my lifetime.”

David, who was due to open in a production of CP Taylor's Good at the Playhouse Theatre, has also said that he feels theatres are teetering on the brink.“We’ll need government intervention until theatres can safely reopen, and audiences are happy to go back,” he said in a recent interview with Radio Times. 

The Coronavirus Newscast, hosted by Adam Fleming, Laura Kuenssberg, Chris Mason and Fergus Walsh, can also be seen on BBC One at 23.35pm.
