UK: Drama Channel Continues Repeat Run Of David Tennant’s Doctor Who Era Today

Drama Channel in the UK continues airing David Tennant era Doctor Who episodes this afternoon. The re-runs begin from 1.00pm with three episodes airing each week.

David joined the show in 2005 as the Tenth incarnation of the Time Lord and went on to achieve global success with the part. Over 4 years and 47 episodes David won critical acclaim, walking away from the show in January 2010 with an armful of accolades including National Television Awards and a BAFTA Cymru.
Fans too were won and his Doctor was voted the best ever by reader's of Doctor Who Magazine.
In November 2009 the episode The Waters Of Mars gave BBC America their biggest ever ratings.
And in the UK over 10 Million people tuned in on 1st January 2010 to see the demise of David's Doctor as he regenerated.

Earlier this week, TV viewers across the UK were transfixed by the true-crime drama Des, which unfolded across three nights on ITV. Starring David Tennant, Daniel Mays and Jason Watkins, the series documented the arrest and trial of Dennis Nilsen, a prolific serial killer who operated in North London in the late 1970s to early 1980s. Now, in a video released by ITV, you have the chance to take a look behind the scenes of Des with David Tennant, who plays Nilsen, his co-stars and the show's creatives (may only be viewable in the UK)

How And Where To Watch Staged With David Tennant And Michael Sheen In The UK, Australia, USA And Beyond

David Tennant's lockdown comedy Staged was the surprise hit of the year.
The series stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen as fictionalised versions of themselves and was created by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn. It was filmed during lockdown using self-tape and video conferencing techniques. The show was written by Evans, who also co-starred along with Georgia Tennant and Anna Lundberg as the director of a play starring Michael and David. With the play on hold due to the coronavirus epidemic, Simon tries to convince his cast to carry on rehearsals over the internet, but is hampered by ego clashes, boredom, home-schooling and fall-outs with neighbours.

Fans in the UK can watch the original series over on BBC iPlayer or an extended version with previously unseen footage is also available on Netflix.

In the USA the series is now available to stream via Hulu.

In Australia the series will start airing on ABC COMEDY on Monday nights at 8.30pm from Monday 21st September.

David Tennant is amongst celebrities who have lent their voices to a new edition of Beatrix Potter’s beloved tales which is released in the UK today. 

To mark 154 years since the author’s birth, publisher Penguin Random House has announced an audio edition of Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales.

David will be reading the Tale Of Benjamin Bunny. The book is a sequel to The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and tells of Peter's return to Mr. McGregor's garden with his cousin Benjamin to retrieve the clothes he lost there during his previous adventure.

UK: David Tennant Narrates New Dennis Nilsen Documentary The Real Des Tonight On ITV

David Tennant is the narrator of a new documentary about serial killer Dennis Nilsen which will premiere in the UK on ITV tonight at 9pm.  Following on from the true crime drama  series, Des, which starred David Tennant as the serial killer, The Real 'Des': The Dennis Nilsen Story, will explore the personality of the notorious killer who admitted to murdering up to 15 young men at his homes in London and disposed of their bodies in his garden and down his drain. A spokesperson for ITV said: "On the surface, Nilsen was a mild-mannered civil servant, though his true persona was terrifying and deadly. Nilsen was drawn to young men who he murdered and brutalised in bizarre rituals. "But he was also a rarity - a killer who wanted to talk and to boast about his crimes from the moment he was caught." USA: Staged Starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen Available On Hulu from Today

The wait is over for fans in the USA as Staged finally drops on Hulu today. The UK series sees Good Omens stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen reunite as exaggerated versions of themselves in this hilarious lockdown comedy. Created by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn and produced by Infinity Hill and GCB Films for the BBC, the six-part show was filmed using video conferencing and self-tape techniques to get round COVID-19 restrictions. The premise of Staged is that David and Michael were due to star in a production of Six Characters in Search of an Author in the West End. The pandemic has put paid to that, but their director (Simon Evans - also playing himself) is determined not to let the opportunity pass him by. He knows how big a chance this is for him and turns his attention to cajoling his stars into rehearsing over the internet. First Look At David Tennant As Phileas Fogg In Around The World In 80 Days

The first look at David Tennant and his Around The World In 80 Days co-stars Ibrahim Koma and Leonie Benesch has been released ahead of filming resuming on the epic drama series next month.

The series is being adapted by writers including Ashley Pharoah (Life on Mars) and Caleb Ranson (Child of Mine). Filming in South Africa was paused in March due to the Coronavirus crisis. A late 2021 transmission is now expected due to the delays.

David leads the cast as he takes on the role of Phileas Fogg. He has revealed that one episode of the eight part series is complete and that they were half way through another when the filming was stopped. Romania, France and Italy are among the scheduled locations of its episodically-planned shoot.





Following an outrageous bet, Fogg and his valet, Passepartout, played by rising French actor Ibrahim Koma, take on the legendary journey of circumnavigating the globe in just 80 days, swiftly joined by aspiring journalist Abigail Fix, played by The Crown’s Leonie…

David Tennant’s new ITV drama Des, was watched by 5.4m (ave) last night making it the biggest drama launch on the channel since Cleaning Up in 2019. It continues tonight and concludes tomorrow at 9pm.

Only one episode of the new ITV  real crime drama Des has been broadcast but already David Tennant's hypnotising performance as serial killer Dennis Nilsen is already shortlisted for a Best Actor award.Voting is now open in the TV Times Awards, and the Favourite Actor category sees David nominated alongside Tom Brittney (Make Me Famous), Martin Compston (The Nest), Ralph Little (Death In Paradise), Patrick Robinson (Sitting In Limbo) and Michael Sheen (Quiz).Also nominated in the Comedy category is There She Goes, in which David Tennant and Jessica Hynes co-star as the parents of a severely disabled child. In April next year, David Tennant will return as the Tenth Doctor for a monumental new full-cast Doctor Who audio drama series from Big Finish Productions, in association with BBC Studios. 
Dalek Universe comprises nine hour-long episodes which will see the Doctor pulled out of time and sent back to the era before the last great Time War. Here he finds himself battling for survival in a universe full of Daleks, Mechonoids, Movellans... and Davros!

The latest episode in the new season of David Tennant Does A Podcast With... is now live. This week David is chatting to actress and writer Cush Jumbo.

Cush who co-starred with David Tennant in the recent Channel 4 drama Deadwater Fell, is probably best known for her starring role as attorney Lucca Quinn in the CBS legal drama series The Good Wife and the CBS All Access spin-off series The Good Fight .

She also starred as DC Bethany Whelan in the ITV crime drama series Vera and has appeared in numerous theatre productions. She won the Ian Charleson Award for her role as Rosalind in As You Like It and received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for her role as Mark Antony in an all-female cast of Julius Caesar. She also wrote and starred in the one-woman show Josephine and I, about Josephine Baker.
