New David Tennant Series “Around The World In 80 Days” To Commence Filming On Location In Late February‬

As we reported back in June last year , David Tennant is to lead the cast of an exciting new adaptation of Around The World In 80 Days, taking on the iconic role of Phileas Fogg. 

Further information about the filming of the 8 part series has been released at France’s Showeb Séries 2020 festival. 
Filming will begin on 24th February on location in Budapest and South Africa with 4 of the episodes being shot in each location. It is expected to launch on screens in late 2020. 
The series is being adapted by writers including Ashley Pharoah (Life on Mars) and Caleb Ranson (Child of Mine).
Following an outrageous bet, Fogg and his valet, Passepartout, played by rising French actor Ibrahim Koma, take on the legendary journey of circumnavigating the globe in just 80 days, swiftly joined by aspiring journalist Abigail Fix, played by The Crown’s Leonie Benesch, who seizes the chance to report on this extraordinary story. David Tennant is the narrator for a second series of the award winning wildlife series Spy in The Wild. The new four part series begins on BBC One at 9pm tonight. 

In the first episode of the new series the Spy Creatures investigate the extraordinary wildlife that thrives in the tropics and the events and gatherings that happen across the year.

For the first time, our Spy Creatures record how gorillas sing when they are enjoying their meals, and in a comical moment they experience the noisy after-effects of their vegetarian diet. In Brazil, Spy Jaguar Cub explores a beautiful gathering of water birds, capybara and caiman and joins Spy Caiman to film a feeding frenzy as its wild counterparts go fishing. In Costa Rica, Spy Turtle and Spy Vulture gain an insider’s view of the spectacular turtle arribada as thousands jostle for a place on the beach to lay their eggs. In Zambia, Spy Hippo takes us into the heart of a hippo pod, and is too close for comfort as it films a dramatic fight.

UK: Good Omens Episode 2 Premieres On BBC Two Tonight

The acclaimed comedy fantasy series Good Omens continues its run on terrestrial TV in the UK tonight as Episode Two premieres on BBC Two from 9pm.
David Tennant stars as fast-living demon Crowley opposite Michael Sheen as his angelic counterpart Aziraphale in the six-part series which was adapted from the beloved novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Good Omens was produced by Neil Gaiman and directed by Douglas Mackinnon and premiered in May 2019 on Amazon Prime. David Tennant is to guest on Lauren Laverne’s BBC Radio 6 Music show this morning from 7.30am.
In the pre-recorded interview David will be chatting about his new Channel 4 Drama, Deadwater Fell. David stars as Tom Kendrick, the local GP, a trusted, admired and much-liked member of the community, a doting father to three little girls and a loving husbandto Kate, played by Anna Madeley. Kate teaches at the local primary school working alongside her best friend, and closest confidante, Jess Milner, played by Cush Jumbo. VIDEO: David Tennant Drama “Des” Featured In ITV’s New Drama Trailer

The first look at David Tennant’s new drama Des is featured in a new ITV drama trailer. 
The three part series sees David play one of the UK's most notorious serial killers, Dennis Nilsen and is based on Killing For Company, the biography of Nilsen written by Brian Masters which includes conversations with the killer who would go by the name of 'Des'. Currently nearing the end of filming, the drama will hit screens in the UK later this year.

Told through the prism of three men – Dennis Nilsen played by David Tennant, Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jay played by Daniel Mays (Line of Duty, Temple) and biographer Brian Masters played by Jason Watkins (The Crown, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies) – the series will explore the personal and professional consequences of coming into contact with a man like Nilsen.

UK: David Tennant To Appear On The Last Leg Next Week

David Tennant will be a guest on The Last Leg next week alongside regular hosts Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker. Channel 4's live topical comedy show reviews the significant moments of the previous seven days and the most entertaining news stories of the week. 


The award-winning programme The Last Leg launched in 2012 to run alongside Channel 4's coverage of the London Paralympics. It returned as a series in its own right in 2013, but has still retained its focus on celebrating difference and disability humour - Hills and Brooker regularly poke fun at their own disabilities. It now has a reputation for fearlessly promoting social justice and aiming to deflate the egos of the rich and powerful. The viewing public are encouraged to join in by tweeting their questions to the show using the #isitok hashtag.

David Tennant Features In New Short Film “Heart To Heart”

David Tennant has lent his vocal talents to a brand new short film called Heart To Heart.

After waking up from yet another heart surgery, Liddy (Fern Deacon) starts hearing a voice telling her that she risks dying a virgin, and that's unacceptable...it's her heart Lump (David Tennant) talking. He's planning to help her get with hot nurse Kim (Siena Kelly) and learn to live a little.

The film stars Fern Deacon, Siena Kelly, David Tennant, Felicity Montagu, Jo Martin and is written by IR Bell-Webb and directed by Lilah Vandenburgh.

He was in the studio to chat about his new drama Deadwater Fell and whilst there spoke briefly about the play he mentioned he was doing later this year, whilst he now says it is not 100% confirmed he did let slip that the secret project is “relevant to the times”.

AUSTRALIA: David Tennant Drama Deadwater Fell Coming To BBC First

BBC First have confirmed that they will be screening David Tennant’s crime drama Deadwater Fell in Australia in 2020. No exact date of transmission has been revealed as yet, but it will join Call The Midwife, The Trial Of Christine Keeler, Silent Witness and Death In Paradise in the channel’s new line up of drama for the year ahead. 

Deadwater Fell sees a seemingly perfect and happy family murdered by someone they know and trust and the small Scottish community they call home become riven with mistrust and suspicion as those closest to the family begin to question everything they thought they knew about their friends... USA: Acorn TV Buys Rights To Stream David Tennant’s Deadwater Fell

Acorn TV have bought the rights to stream David Tennant’s Drama Deadwater Fell in North America it was announced at the winter Television Critics Association tour.
The four part series will come to the service from April 2020.

The Quite Nice and Fairly Accurate Good Omens Script Book is published as a paperback in the UK today.

The book contains much that is new and revelatory and even several scenes that are not actually in the final television series. It also includes an introduction by Neil Gaiman about bringing Good Omens to the screen

Neil Gaiman's glorious reinvention of the iconic bestseller Good Omens is adapted from the internationally beloved novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman . The series is written and show-run by Neil himself and stars David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm and Miranda Richardson.

USA & CANADA: Season Two Of There She Goes Confirmed For BritBox

The second season of There She Goes will be coming to BritBox in the USA and Canada it was confirmed today at the Television Critics Association gathering in Pasadena.

There She Goes follows the day to day life of a severely learning disabled girl Rosie (Miley Locke), her dad Simon (David Tennant), mum Emily (Jessica Hynes) and brother Ben (Edan Hayhurst). The series is based on the real life experiences of writer Shaun Pye, whose daughter was born with an extremely rare and, to date, undiagnosed chromosomal disorder. 
Series one of There She Goes, which debuted on BBC Four, in 2018 chronicled the dual timeline of Rosie as a newborn and age nine. The new series, which will see the show move to BBC Two in the UK, is set around 18 months on and will focus on Rosie at the ages of three and 11.

A new interview with David Tennant is to be featured on the forthcoming Doctor Who limited-edition Blu-ray collection of season 14, containing all of Tom Baker’s most iconic moments as The Doctor. 

In 1976, Doctor Who took a dramatic new turn, electrifying audiences with changes in format, companion and appearance of the TARDIS. Season 14 saw the departure of the Doctor’s long-term companion Sarah Jane Smith, and the introduction of Leela. David Tennant is amongst the nominees for the National Film Awards UK in 2020 as announced today by The National Film Academy. Over 2.9 million fans submitted their nominations across 26 categories for The Awards which celebrate the achievements of filmmakers, actors, actresses, casting directors, production companies and crew within the motion picture industry. The ceremony will take place on the 20th March 2020 in London and will be broadcast exclusively on Sky Showcase and syndicated in all major territories around the world.

Deadwater Fell Premiere Ratings And Review Roundup

David Tennant’s new drama series, Deadwater Fell, launched on Friday on Channel 4 in the UK it averaged 2.6m viewers with a 14.6% audience share and outperformed the channel's 9pm slot average.

The press were impressed with the premiere episode of the thrilling series.
The Observer called it “utterly intriguing”, The Telegraph say it “may be the stand out drama of 2020”, The Guardian call the show “the new Broadchurch”, whilst The Independent says “Deadwater Fell is gruelling, but hard to take your eyes off”
