The Story Of Christmas Charity Carol Service With A Reading By David Tennant Is Online Now

The video of The Story Of Christmas Appeal's 2020 Charity Carol Service has now gone live on YouTube. David Tennant is one of a host of stars taking part in the service, reading an extract from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The online concert provides the perfect way to get that traditional festive feeling, while at the same time raising funds for disadvantaged children and the homeless.

Watch the service below, and please donate if you can - even a small amount can make a difference in what has been a very difficult year for charities.

The Story of Christmas is a charity carol service which usually takes place each year at St George’s Hanover Square in Central London. This year, in view of the pandemic crisis, the event has moved online as a magical, star-studded video carol concert. This year, there are readings by Dame Floella Benjamin, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Clare Balding, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, Dame Judi Dench, Freddie Fox, Dawn French, Tim Henman, Ian Hislop, Sir Derek Jacobi, Aled Jones, Miriam Margolyes, Captain Sir Tom Moore, Graham Norton, Sophie Raworth, John Sessions, David Tennant, Eleanor Tomlinson and Dame Penelope Wilton with seasonal music from The Band & Fanfare Trumpeters of the Scots Guards and The Choir of St Paul’s Cathedral.

This year’s charities who will benefit from the campaign are 999 Club, Ambitious About Autism, Cherry Trees, Harington, Look Ahead, Momentum Children’s Charity,  West London Mission and Young Westminster Foundation. You can read about them here
