There She Goes Wins C21 Comedy Award

There She Goes, the comedy series starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes, has been named Best Returning Comedy-Drama Series in the C21 2020 International Drama Awards. The BBC Two series follows a family's experiences raising a daughter with a severe learning disability and is based on the real-life experiences of writers Shaun Pye and Sarah Crawford, whose own daughter lives with an undiagnosed chromosomal disorder.

There She Goes co-stars Miley Locke and Edan Hayhurst, with recurring appearances from Ben Willbond, Yasmin Akram, Nigel Planer, Serena Evans and Philip Jackson. The series is directed by Simon Hynd and produced by Clelia Mountford for Merman Television. Other nominees in the category were After Life (Derek Productions for Netflix), Brassic (Calamity Films for Sky One), Dead to Me (CBS Television Studios for Netflix), Man Like Mobeen (Tiger Aspect for BBC One/BBC Three) and Sex Education (Eleven Film for Netflix).

David Tennant was nominated for Best Individual Performance in a Drama Series for his performance in ITV series Des, but lost out to Israeli actor Shira Haas for her role in Unorthodox (Studio Airlift/RealFilm for Netflix). Des lost out to Unorthodox in the Best Miniseries category.
