David Tennant's Macbeth to transfer theatres later this year

David Tennant plays his final shows of Macbeth at the Donmar Warehouse today but the show will return around autumn in a new venue in London. David will reprise his critically acclaimed performance as Macbeth for the new run. The small seating capacity of the Donmar has created an intimate atmosphere for the run but it is thought a larger venue will be sought for the transfer.

Director Max Webster’s production employs binaural technology to create an immersive 3D sound world, courtesy of sound designer Gareth Fry, which the audience experiences through wearing headphones. In addition, live music comes from an onstage Scottish folk band led by Alasdair Macrae and featuring award-winning Gaelic singer Kathleen MacInnes.

You can hear David talk briefly about the new run of Macbeth during his recent interview with Zoe Ball here.
