Comic Relief's Red Nose Day TV fundraiser took tonight, offering viewers as constant flow of sketches, special episodes, surprise appearances and musical performances all with the aim of raising funds to support aid projects in the UK and abroad. The show was hosted by David Tennant, Zoe Ball, AJ Odudu, Joel Dommett and Paddy McGuinness. However, for the first time in the fundraiser's history, the show was without Comic Relief icon Lenny Henry, who was forced to step back from presenting duties this year due to other commitments.
The show's opening showed the moment that Lenny regenerated into David, who went on to lead the hosting team during the three hour show.
By the close of the show at 10pm tonight, the appeal had raised well over £31 million. Donations are still being accepted via this link,
