VIDEO: David Tennant And Catherine Tate Pay Tribute To Bernard Cribbins

Following last week's extremely sad news that TV and film legend Bernard Cribbins has passed away, David Tennant and Catherine Tate have been paying tribute to their friend and Doctor Who colleague.

The pair appeared on ITV News at Ten as part of a tribute piece about Bernard's life and career.

"He was lovely, I mean he was genuinely lovely," said David. "He had a warmth about him and a twinkle about him."

"It's a huge takeaway for our lives and certainly our careers to have had him in it," added Catherine Tate. "There's a Bernard Cribbins-shaped hole in the world now."

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies who worked with Bernard and created his iconic charcter of Wilfred Mott also posted an emotional message online.

"I love this man. I love him," RTD wrote on Instagram, before ending his post: "I’m so lucky to have known him. Thanks for everything, my old soldier. A legend has left the world."

Bernard had recently returned to the role of Wilf and will be seen on screen with David and Catherine in the eagerly anticipated 60th anniversary special.

He'll certainly be missed and will be lovingly remembered by all.
