Doctor Who To Get New Behind The Scenes Spin Off Series To Coincide With The Return Of David Tennant & Catherine Tate

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies has apparently commissioned a new special behind-the-scenes series ahead of the 60th anniversary of the show according to reports.

It will be titled Doctor Who: Unleashed, will air on BBC Three, and will give fans a sneak-peek behind the scenes at the filming process, beginning with a look at the return of David Tennant and Catherine Tate, according to The Mirror.

The series will be similar in format to Doctor Who Confidential, the behind-the-scenes show that ran from 2005 to 2012 and will continue to air alongside the next full season which will see Ncuti Gatwa take over the TARDIS.

A source told The Mirror that RTD is "aware that Doctor Who fans can never get enough content" and that he thought "the time was right to bring back a behind-the-scenes show which will document their comebacks and show how the special was made".

The BBC confirmed in May that David and Catherine would be returning to Doctor Who for the show's 60th anniversary. The beloved pairing have reunited with showrunner Russell T Davies for the first time since David Tennant's final episodes, The End Of Time Parts 1 and 2, which aired in 2009 and 2010.
