FRANCE: Around The World In 80 Days Premieres On France 2 Tonight




The epic eight-part series Around The World In 80 Days starring David Tennant as intrepid adventurer Phileus Fogg premieres tonight in France with a triple bill on France 2 from 21:10. Airing under the French title Le tour du monde en 80 jours, the drama also stars Rising French star Ibrahim Koma as Fogg's valet Passepartout and Leonie Benesch as journalist Abigail Fix.

Based on the classic novel by Jules Verne, Around The World In 80 Days, the series was adapted by writers including Ashley Pharoah and Caleb Ranson. Other cast members include Ty Tennant, Jason Watkins, Peter Sullivan, Lindsay Duncan, Dolly Wells, Richard Wilson, Faical Elkihel, Anthony Flanagan, Gary Beadle and Giovanni Scifoni.  

The series is already airing on La Une in Belgium on Sunday nights and on RTS1 in Switzerland on Tuesdays. It is due to launch on ZDF in Germany tomorrow night, on BBC One in the UK on Sunday and on Masterpiece on PBS in the USA from 2nd January. The show will also be coming soon to Italy, South Africa and Australia. 

A second season is already being developed.
