Lockdown comedy series Staged is up for another award, appearing in the shortlist for the prestigious Rose d'Or Awards, announced today. Now in their 60th year, the awards celebrate a gold standard for excellence and achievement in International TV and Audio productions.
The award-winning UK lockdown comedy Staged starring David
Tennant and Michael Sheen was written and directed by Simon Evans, who co-stars
alongside Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg, Nina Sosanya and Lucy Eaton. Launched
during the UK’s lockdown in 2020, the series was filmed using video
conferencing technology and follows David and Michael as fictionalised versions
of themselves as they try to rehearse a play remotely. A second series followed
in early 2021, adding Ben Schwartz and Whoopi Goldberg to the cast, along with
a host of surprise guests.
