David Tennant will be taking part in an online conversation next week as part of the annual Canneseries Festival. The Festival runs alongside MIPTV, the international entertainment content market in Cannes and allows free access to previews of new content, exclusive interviews and its international competition. This year the festival offers both digital and in-person events.

David's online conversation will be hosted by Thomas Destouches and will take place on October 10th. As well as discussing his career, David will be speaking about his new series, the hotly anticipated international series Around The World In 80 Days. The first two episodes of the series are being screened for free at the festival, also on 10th October, at 21:00h at the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière.

You can watch David's Rendez-Vous at this link from October 10th.

Based on the classic Jules Verne novel, the eight-part series Around The World In 80 Days stars David Tennant as Phileas Fogg, a 19th Century gentleman and adventurer who, with his valet, Passepartout, played by rising French actor Ibrahim Koma, takes on the legendary journey of circumnavigating the globe in just 80 days following an outrageous bet. They are swiftly joined by aspiring journalist Abigail Fix, played by The Crown’s Leonie Benesch, who seizes the chance to report on this extraordinary story. Other cast members include Jason Watkins, Peter Sullivan, Lindsay Duncan, Dolly Wells, Richard Wilson, Faical Elkihel, Anthony Flanagan, Gary Beadle and Giovanni Scifoni.  The series is adapted by writers including Ashley Pharoah and Caleb Ranson and is a Slim Film + Television and Federation co-production with additional co-production partners, Palladium Pictures in South Africa, and Daro Film, associate producer. It will air on the BBC in the UK, Masterpiece in the USA, France Télévisions, Germany’s ZDF and Italy’s RAI. Seven West Media are also backing the production and are broadcasting the drama in Australia. Around The World In 80 Days will premiere in late 2021.
