The BBC comedy series Staged launches across Latin America
tonight as the first two episodes premiere on DirecTV Latin America from 11pm (from midnight in
The Caribbean). The show will be broadcast in English with Spanish subtitles with two new episodes airing each Thursday.
The award-winning sitcom stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen
playing heightened versions of themselves, two actors frustrated by the
coronavirus lockdown, whose fragile egos jeopardise virtual rehearsals for a
play. The Good Omens co-stars are joined by their own real-life partners
Georgia Tennant and Anna Lundberg, with Lucy Eaton, Nina Sosanya and the show’s
writer and director Simon Evans. DirecTV has acquired both seasons of Staged,
so viewers can expect to see Ben Schwartz joining the cast in Season 2 along
with s steady stream of surprise guest stars.
Staged was conceived by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn and
filmed using video-conferencing technology to comply with COVID-19 restrictions.
The series premiered in the UK in June 2020 and has also aired in the USA, Australia and China.
