Streaming Service BroadwayHD Adds David Tennant's Richard II


Broadway HD, the streaming service for theatre fans is set to add titles from the Royal Shakespeare Company, including the 2013 production of Richard II starring David Tennant. Other productions also available to stream from February 22nd include Coriolanus, Henry IV Part 1, Henry IV Part 2, Love's Labour's Lost, Romeo and Juliet and Shakespeare: The Taming of the Shrew. 

Directed by Gregory Doran, Richard II (2013) was recorded live from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon and showcases David Tennant's award-winning performance in the lead role. Richard is King. A monarch ordained by God to lead his people. But he is also a man of very human weakness. A man whose vanity threatens to divide the great houses of England and drag his people into a dynastic civil war that will last 100 years. Richard II also stars Nigel Lindsay, Oliver Ford-Davies and Jane Lapotaire.

Other additions to BroadwayHD this month include the 1958 film Gigi, Jez Butterworth’s Parlour Song starring Toby Jones, Andrew Lincoln and Amanda Drew, and John Barrowman Live at the Royal Albert Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
