UK: Broadcast Dates For David Tennant Real Crime Drama Des Revealed

Des, the three-part drama about the arrest and trial of serial killer Dennis Nilsen, will air on ITV from mid-September, it has been revealed today. The series, based on the book Killing For Company by Brian Masters, will be shown over three nights from Monday 14th to Wednesday 16th September, according to The Big Issue magazine.

David Tennant plays Dennis Nilsen in the drama, the apparently quiet and solitary Jobcentre employee known as Des, who was responsible for the murder of up to fifteen men and boys in his two North London flats. In his Big Issue interview, David explains how a rise in poverty and homelessness at the time of Nilsen's crimes made it easy for him to prey on his lost and desperate victims. He says:
“Nilsen shouldn’t have been able to get away with it for as long as he did. And we have to wonder why that happened. And that’s got something to do with the fact that he was preying on people that society had, to a greater or lesser extent, turned its back on.”

Des also stars Jason Watkins as Brian Masters and Daniel May as DCI Peter Jay.
