UK: There She Goes “We Need To Talk About Rosie” Premieres On BBC Two Tonight

The second series of There She Goes, the heartwarming comedy drama about a family with a learning disabled daughter, continues in the UK tonight on BBC Two at 9.30pm.

Starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes the series is based on the real life experiences of writer Shaun Pye, whose daughter was born with an extremely rare and, to date, undiagnosed chromosomal disorder. There She Goes follows the day to day life of a severely learning disabled girl Rosie (Miley Locke), her dad Simon (David Tennant), mum Emily (Jessica Hynes) and brother Ben (Edan Hayhurst). Jessica Hynes recently won a Bafta for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme for her role in the show.Series one, which debuted in 2018, chronicled the dual timeline of Rosie as a newborn and age nine. The new series is set around 18 months on and focuses on Rosie at the ages of three and 11.

Episode 4 - We Need To Talk About Rosie
Picking up Rosie (Miley Locke) from school, Si (David Tennant) is told that the staff have noticed some bruising on her sides and legs which can only have happened over the weekend.
Si becomes increasingly paranoid, especially when a horribly formal letter tells them social services will be making an imminent visit. Convinced that an investigation will spread to all aspects of their parenting, Si and Em (Jessica Hynes) nervously await the arrival of the social worker.
In the early timeline, Si and Em are thrilled when Rosie takes her first ever steps, fulfilling a milestone they didn’t think she’d ever reach. The initial joy gives way to concern, as a mobile Rosie proves to be very accident prone, especially when the nursery find it increasingly hard to balance Rosie’s needs with those of the other children.

The full second series of There She Goes is streaming on BBC iPlayer now.
