A signed script from David Tennant’s lockdown comedy series Staged is currently up for auction to raise money for the Theatres Trust.
The pilot script has been signed by David Tennant, Michael Sheen and the show’s creator Simon Evans.

Bidding currently stands at £600 and you can place your bids online here
Other lots in the auction include a clapperboard from the final series of Broadchurch signed by director Andrew Williams, afternoon tea for two with Jo Brand and drinks with Lucy Prebble.

The Theatres Trust believe that current and future generations should have access to good quality theatres where they can be inspired by, and enjoy, live performance.

Staged is based on an original idea by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn - Staged is written and directed by Evans and is an Infinity Hill/GCB Films production for BBC One. The series stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen, playing fictional versions themselves, with the premise that the pair were due to star in a production of Six Characters in Search of an Author in the West End. The pandemic has put paid to that, but their director (Simon Evans - also playing himself) is determined not to let the opportunity pass him by. He knows how big a chance this is for him and turns his attention to cajoling his stars into rehearsing over the internet. All they need to do is read the first scene, but throughout the series they come up against a multitude of oppositional forces: distraction, boredom, home-schooling and their own egos.

The series takes on the challenges of creating a drama in lockdown, on stage and off, with a line-up including Georgia Tennant, Lucy Eaton and Anna Lundberg. The show also has a selection of guest stars including Nina Sosanya.

The full series of Staged is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
