Production on David Tennant's new TV series, Around The World in 80 Days, which was suspended due to the coronavirus crisis, is due to resume shortly. Filming was taking place in South Africa when they were flown home in mid-March. David Tennant revealed recently that they had completed one and a half episodes when production halted.
The news was revealed by France Télévisions through their Twitter account.

Following an outrageous bet, Fogg and his valet,
Passepartout, played by rising French actor Ibrahim Koma, take on the legendary
journey of circumnavigating the globe in just 80 days, swiftly joined by
aspiring journalist Abigail Fix, played by The Crown’s Leonie
Benesch, who seizes the chance to report on this extraordinary story.

Television and Federation co-production with additional co-production partners,
Palladium Pictures in South Africa, and Daro Film, associate producer. It will
air on on BBC One in the UK,

Originally the series was set to be broadcast from late 2020 or early 2021. However, the the three month delay means that production may not now be complete until the autumn; the producers have yet to communicate revised transmission plans, but it is highly likely it will not be on screens until next year.
