UK: All Episodes Of Staged Available On BBC iPlayer Now



All six episodes of the new BBC comedy series Staged are available to stream now via BBC iPlayer. The series premiered on BBC One last night. 

In Staged, David Tennant and Michael Sheen star play fictional versions themselves, two actors whose West End play has been put on hold due to to the coronavirus outbreak, but whose director has persuaded them to carry on rehearsing online.

The series takes on the challenges of creating a drama in lockdown, on stage and off, with a line-up including Georgia Tennant, Lucy Eaton and Anna Lundberg. The show will also have a selection of guest stars including Nina Sosanya, with more to be confirmed in due course.The series was made safely and responsibly under the UK COVID-19 lockdown, using a combination of self-shooting and video conferencing technology, all in accordance with the latest protocols.

Based on an original idea by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn, Staged is written and directed by Evans and is an Infinity Hill/GCB Films production for BBC One. It was commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Director BBC Content. The producers are Phin Glynn, Victor Glynn and Georgia Tennant. David Tennant and Michael Sheen are also executive producers of the series. Executive Producers for Infinity Hill are Axel Kuschevatzky and Cindy Teperman and for GCB, Geoff Iles.

Cachu Hwch
Episode 1
David Tennant and Michael Sheen were due to put on a play in the West End before the production was put on hold because of the pandemic. The play’s director, Simon Evans, is worried that his big break is about to pass him by and tries to convince his doubtful actors to carry on rehearsals online.

Up to No Good
Episode 2
With rehearsals due to begin, Simon goes missing. Michael and David embrace the opportunity to skive off. Georgia is due to deliver her novel to her agent and asks David to stand in and help with the kids. Michael is caught breaking the law.
Inspired by Georgia’s writing, David is tempted to start a new endeavour.

Who the F#!k Is Michael Sheen?
Episode 3
An actor who was initially involved in the play, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts, comes back to haunt the production. Georgia has sold her novel and tells Anna that she’s due to be a birthing partner for her friend. Michael is blackmailed by his neighbour.

Bara Brith
Episode 4
Michael and David are finding it hard to regain each other’s trust, so the show’s producer, Jo, steps in to try and repair the damage. Meanwhile, Michael gets drawn deeper into the situation with his neighbour, while David is nervous about Georgia leaving to help her friend in labour.

Received Pronunciation
Episode 5
Simon brings in an old friend to try and convince David and Michael to put their faith in him. David has managed to stay afloat in Georgia’s absence. Not only 
has he kept the house in order and the home-schooling ticking over, but he’s finished a draft of his screenplay. Michael spies an ambulance next door and worries about his neighbour.

The Cookie Jar
Episode 6 
Jo drafts in the voice of experience to get Michael and David in line. Georgia has shared David's work without him knowing. Michael seeks resolution on what has happened to his neighbour. David is pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic 
response his work receives . 
The series continues on BBC One at 10.45pm on Wednesday 17th June.
