Channel 4 Celebrates Deadwater Fell's Ratings Performance (Contains Spoilers)

The critically acclaimed Channel 4 drama Deadwater Fell, starring David Tennant, Anna Madeley, Cush Jumbo and Matthew McNulty, concluded last month, bringing focus on the sadly often misunderstood and undetected subjects of domestic abuse and coercive control. Expecting a traditional murder mystery, viewers tried to guess who had set the fire that took the lives of a mother and her three daughters. However, as is the case for many victims of abuse, there was no clever twist for Kate, and her own requests for help went unheard as those around her (and the viewers) chose to believe a clever and manipulative individual instead.

Deadwater Fell proved to be a ratings winner for Channel 4 with a series average of 4.4 million viewers, giving an average audience share of 17.6%.  This made it the most successful series by Channel 4 since 2018's Kiri. It has also been the biggest ever drama on Channel 4's streaming service All 4.
