GERMANY: Mary Queen Of Scots To Premiere On Sky Cinema Next Weekend




Mary Queen Of Scots premieres on TV in Germany next Sunday evening on Sky Cinema. The movie stars Saoirse Ronan as the titular monarch with Margot Robbie as the English Queen and her rival for power, Elizabeth I. Guy Pearce, Gemma Chan, Jack Lowden and Joe Alwyn also star, with David Tennant as the controversial Scottish preacher John Knox. Mary Queen Of Scots was directed by celebrated theatre producer and director Josie Rourke.

Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary Stuart defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. But Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth I. Each young Queen beholds her sister in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence.
