BBC Radio 4 Extra begin repeating the whole of the first series of Dixon Of Dock Green over the course of the next few days. Episode 1: London Pride airs today with broadcasts at 6am, 1pm, 8pm and 1am.
In today’s episode George Dixon is showing new boy Andy Crawford the ropes on the beat of Dock Green. To PC Crawford's surprise, Dixon is prepared to bend the rules in order to arrest one of a gang of safe breakers.
Dixon Of Dock Green was first broadcast in 2005. It stars David Calder as PC George Dixon and David Tennant as PC Andy Crawford. It was adapted by Sue Rodwell from the original TV scripts by Ted Willis
