David Tennant Is Voted Favourite Doctor By Doctor Who Fans Once Again

David Tennant has been voted the best ever Doctor in Doctor Who.A poll of more than 50,000 people, which was carried out by RadioTimes.com, saw him finish ahead of his nearest challenger Jodie Whittaker by just 95 votes.The pair each received 21% of votes, with Tennant selected by 10,518 people compared to Whittaker’s 10,423.Whittaker is currently starring as The Doctor and is the first woman to take on the role, while Tennant played the part in the famous sci-fi series between 2005 and 2010.Survey respondents were asked to choose between 13 Time Lords.Peter Capaldi came third in the poll with 8897 votes (18%).Matt Smith attracted 7637 votes (16%) placing him fourth, while Tom Baker was fifth with 3977 (8%).Peter Davidson, who played the Timelord in the 1980s, came bottom with just 351 votes (1%).Huw Fullerton, sci-fi and fantasy editor at RadioTimes.com, said: “Over a decade after he left the Tardis behind and after nearly 50,000 votes were cast, it’s clear David Tennant is still Doc…

How And Where To Watch Des With David Tennant In The UK, Australia, USA And Beyond

David Tennant's much anticipated portrayal of the notorious serial killer Dennis Nilsen finally hits screens in the UK this evening.

Fans in the UK can tune in to episode one tonight from 9pm on ITV. Episode two will air tomrrow night at 9pm with the third and final instalment coming on Wednesday at the same time. The series will also be available on catch up on the ITV Hub. 
A DVD and Blu-ray release in the UK will take place on 12th October and it can be pre-ordered from amazon.co.uk here. 

Australia will see Des beginning on 15th September on streaming service Stan. A 30 day free trial for the service is available. Find out more on their website here.

Fans in the USA, Canada and the Caribbean can look forward to watching Des on the streaming service Sundance Now. No dates for it dropping have been released as yet so stay tuned.
DirecTV has secured rights to the show in Latin America while TVNZ has the rights for New Zealand.

Des Tops 10 Million Views In The Week After Launch

The consolidated viewing figures are in for Des and reveal that more that 10 million people have watched the ITV crime drama  in the seven days since its launch last week.David Tennant, Daniel Mays and Jason Watkins starred in the three-episode series detailing the arrest and murder of Dennis Nilsen, one of the UK's most notorious serial killers. Written by Luke Neal and directed by Lewis Arnold, the drama is based on material from the book Killing for Company by Brian Masters, played by Jason Watkins in the series.The drama launched with 5.4 million viewers on Monday 14th September, making it ITV's most watched drama of the year. It has now been watched by 10.9 million viewers with the inclusion of repeat showings and catch up and streaming services. This makes it ITV's biggest drama launch since 2006. Des also broke the record for ITV Hub, bringing in its biggest audience to date of 1.7 million viewers. David Tennant is the narrator of a new documentary about serial killer Dennis Nilsen which will premiere in the UK on ITV tonight at 9pm.  Following on from the true crime drama  series, Des, which starred David Tennant as the serial killer, The Real 'Des': The Dennis Nilsen Story, will explore the personality of the notorious killer who admitted to murdering up to 15 young men at his homes in London and disposed of their bodies in his garden and down his drain. A spokesperson for ITV said: "On the surface, Nilsen was a mild-mannered civil servant, though his true persona was terrifying and deadly. Nilsen was drawn to young men who he murdered and brutalised in bizarre rituals. "But he was also a rarity - a killer who wanted to talk and to boast about his crimes from the moment he was caught." David Tennant's gripping true crime drama Des aired on ITV in the UK earlier in the month to almost universal acclaim and netting the channel its biggest drama ratings this year. Also starring Daniel Mays and Jason Watkins, the three part series documents the arrest and trial of Dennis Nilsen, one of the UK's most notorious serial killers. The latest episode in the new season of David Tennant Does A Podcast With... is now live. This week David is chatting to Australian comedian, actor, writer, musician, and songwriter Tim Minchin.Tim is perhaps best known for his musical comedy.  He is a regular on television in Australia, Britain, and the United States. David Tennant Wins Scottish Comedy Award For Good Omens

David Tennant has scooped the Best Actor prize in the 2020 Scottish Comedy Awards for his role as Crowley in Good Omens. The awards were originally planned to be announced at a live ceremony in June, but this was postponed due to the coronavirus crisis. David saw off competition from Jack Docherty (Scot Squad), Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) and Susan Riddle (The State Of It) to win his category.Good Omens, which co-stars Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, is an adaptation of the cult comic novel of the same name by Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Written and produced by Gaiman and directed by Douglas Mackinnon, the series follows the attempts by an angel and a demon to avert the oncoming Apocalypse.
