UK: Takin’ Over The Asylum: Fly Like An Eagle Airs On BBC Scotland Tonight

BBC Scotland continues their repeat run of Takin’ Over The Asylum tonight  at 9pm.
The 1994 comedy drama stars Ken Stott as Eddie McKenna, a replacement window salesman and part-time DJ who starts up a radio station in a psychiatric hospital in Glasgow. David Tennant  plays Campbell, a teenage bipolar resident of the facility. Other cast members include Katy Murphy as Francine, Andrew Macfadyen as Angus and Ruth McCabe as Rosalie, with Arabella Weir as radio exec Paula and a cameo from the late Spike Milligan.

Written by Donna Franceschild and directed by David Blair, the BAFTA winning series explored the stigmatisation of people living with mental illness through the experiences of the hospital residents and McKenna's struggles with his own alcoholism.

BBC Scotland is available to viewers in Scotland on most broadcast platforms, including Freeview, Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media.

For availability outside Scotland, check your provider's channel guide.
The series wil also be streamed via BBC iPlayer.

Fly Like An Eagle airs at 9pm tonight:
With the radio station quickly gaining the patients' approval, Eddie begins to get to know his listeners. Meanwhile, the manic-depressive Campbell takes up a position alongside Eddie, hoping to make use of his eccentric charm to become a professional DJ. Bafta-winning drama.
