John Barrowman Reveals He Is Keen For A Screen Reunion With Doctor Who “Golden Age” Co-Stars David Tennant And Billie Piper

John Barrowman has revealed that he pitched a plan for a Doctor Who / Torchwood film to the show’s former writer, Russell T Davies. John, who starred alongside David Tennant and Billie Piper in Doctor Who as Captain Jack and who led the hugely popular spinoff series Torchwood, told RadioTimes.com “I can’t remember what ceremony it was, but I was speaking to [Davies] – he’d picked up an award for A Very English Scandal – and we said: ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could do a Torchwood or Doctor Who movie with [Captain] Jack, David [Tennant] and Billie [Piper]?”
John added: “If I can boast, the three of us, we all call each other ‘The Golden Age’ [laughs]…The three of us made such an impact that people still talk about us to this day, which is great!”
Whilst John didn’t reveal any plot points for his idea it’s obvious that the film would be hugely popular with fans due to the characters, and the actors themselves, on going huge popularity...
John adds “That’s why I always talk about Doctor Who and Captain Jack and stuff – some people think I’m being a bit of a d*** for doing it, but I don’t give a s***.  There’s a market out there and sometimes I think it’s being missed!”
Luckily if you’re missing your fix of Captain Jack, Rose Tyler and the Tenth Doctor all three now have their own series of audio adventures via Big Finish. Visit www.bigfinish.com for more info and to buy online.
