David Tennant is one of a host of guest stars to be announced for a new Netflix drama called Criminal.
Criminal is a ground breaking crime drama set across the UK, France, Spain and Germany. The drama all takes place within the confines of a police interview suite. It is described as a stripped-down, cat-and-mouse drama that will focus on the intense mental conflict between the police officer and the suspect in question.
There are three 45-minute episodes set in each country. The series will drop worldwide in Autumn 2019. The Idiotlamp-produced series was filmed at Netflix’s new production hub in Madrid. George Kay and Jim Field Smith are showrunners.
The episodes are all in the local language, with writing and directing talent from the individual territories taking charge of the episodes from their countries, setting up an innovative production model.
The regular cast in the UK includes Katherine Kelly, Lee Ingleby and Nicholas Pinnock. In France, Margot Bancilhon, Laurent Lucas and Stéphane Jobert are among the regulars, and in Germany, regulars include Eva Meckbach, Sylvester Groth, and Florence Kasumba. Other guest stars for the British episodes include Hayley Atwell, Youssef Kerkour and Clare-Hope Ashitey.
