Inspired by the new Amazon Prime series Good Omens, an exciting interactive experience is set to open its doors in London's Soho early next month. Fans of the 1990 novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, on which the TV series is based, will recognise A.Z. Fell & Co as the angel Aziraphale's beloved secondhand bookshop. Created in a five-floor Victorian townhouse at 19 Greek Street, the exhibit will run from Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd June, the weekend after the TV series itself launches worldwide on Amazon Prime on May 31st.
The new immersive event will include replica sets from the show, costumes and props and original artwork and on-set drawings by artist Lorna May Wadsworth. For the more adventurous there is a 30-minute Escape Room challenge starting in a recreation of Hell and based on the search for The Nice & Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, the ancient volume which may hold the key to preventing the Apocalypse. Also on display in the street outside will be the demon Crowley's 1934 Bentley Derby Coupe.
The Good Omens bookshop will be free to enter, but fans are advised to book in advance for the Escape Room: tickets are available from 10am on Friday 17th May from this link.
Good Omens is a dark, comedic story set in modern day
Britain on the brink of the Apocalypse. When a fussy angel, Aziraphale (Michael
Sheen) and a suave demon, Crowley (David Tennant) get wind of the coming of the
Antichrist, they join forces to prevent the loss of their comfortable lifestyle
on Earth. Throw in a medley of unforgettable characters, some infernal riders,
a host of angels, a legion of demons and a gang of unruly kids, and the end of
the world will never be funnier! The show also stars Michael McKean, Jack
Whitehall, Adria Arjona, Mireille Enos, Nick Offerman and Nina Sosanya. Scripted by Neil Gaiman and directed by Douglas Mackinnon, Good Omens is co-produced by Amazon Prime and BBC Studios in conjunction with Narrativia and The Blank Corporation.
