Spy In The Snow Nominated In 2019 GTC Awards

John Downer Productions' newest wildlife special Spy In The Snow has been shortlisted by the Guild of Television Camera Professionals in their 2019 awards. The latest film from the makers of the innovative series Earthflight, Spy In The Wild and Penguins: Spy In The Huddle uses animatronic spy creatures to infiltrate the secret worlds of diverse wildlife species to show how living in extreme conditions pushes them to the limit. David Tennant narrates as the up-close footage reveals the fascinating behaviours of animals from penguins to parrots, polar bears to otters, wallabies and wombats.

The GTC says of the show:

Spy in the Snow, BBC1
The Camera Team
TX date/time: 30/12/18

Reason for nomination
A brilliant mix of traditional camerawork and specialist robotic cameras told some gripping stories of the lives of animals. The robotic cameras in the shape of animals and objects from the environment helped give audiences new perspectives in the stories being told and blended well with the narration and other shots.
