Podcasts, Politics & Pratchett's Legacy: David Tennant Talks To The Guardian

A new interview with David Tennant has appeared in today's Observer New Review, part of The Guardian's Sunday edition . In his Q&A with Michael Hogan, David discusses his new podcast series, Doctor Who, Brexit, his new Sky Atlantic comedy Camping and the upcoming Amazon Prime adaptation of Good Omens.

On 'David Tennant Does A Podcast With...'
"It happened accidentally, starting with a conversation with my agent about my predilection for podcasts. Before I knew what was happening, I was in a production meeting, postulating who might take part."

On Brexit
"Foppish clowns who we wouldn’t normally listen to for a second have suddenly become imbued with this extraordinary status."

On Doctor Who
"To certain people, you’ll always be the Doctor, which is a wonderful, humbling thing but it does mean accepting an adjustment to your life."
"Jodie was such an exciting choice. I’m hugely proud of how successful she’s been."

On Good Omens
"It’s totally bonkers. Terry [Pratchett] charged Neil with getting it made, almost as his deathbed wish, so it’s a real labour of love. His hat was at the script read-through."

The next episode of David Tennant Does A Podcast With... features Jodie Whittaker and is available from Tuesday via iTunes, Spotify, Acast and other podcast platforms.

Camping starring David Tennant with Jennifer Garner and Juliette Lewis is currently airing in the UK on Sky Atlantic on Thursday nights and is available tostream via Now TV

Good Omens is due to premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime this spring.
