More Details About The Good Omens SXSW Event Released

More details have been released about Amazon Prime's plans to bring Armageddon to Texas as the streaming network celebrates the highly anticipated premiere of novel-turned-series Good Omens. From the weekend beginning Friday 8th March, Amazon will be launching a series of special events and pop-ups at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, TX, while cast and creatives from the show will be appearing at the festival, including writer and showrunner Neil Gaiman, stars David Tennant, Michel Sheen, Jon Hamm and director Douglas Mackinnon.

Activities will centre on the Good Omens Garden of Earthly Delights, a huge immersive space of over 19000 square feet forming a hidden oasis from the impending End of Days. Between March 8-11 fans and festival-goers (aged 21+) will be able to enter the garden free of charge through a massive winged hourglass on Driskill Street. Surrounded by a wall of lush foliage, the garden is intended as an oasis from the hustle and bustle of SXSW. It transports guests into the world of the beloved book and celebrates the duality of the friendship of protagonists Crowley and Aziraphale, from the moment guests step foot into the garden and are met at the entrance by angel and demon greeters.

Other delights included in the garden are:

 - Beer and wine served from a massive 20-foot carved tree in the garden, which also bears prophetic apples and gifts, and mouthwatering bites from the best of Austin’s food scene (including sushi, of course!)

- Heavenly and hellish cabanas, relaxing lounges and a pampering area for manicures, hand massages and hairstyling with butterLONDON, Cosmedix and SexyHair.

- An A.Z. Fell & Co. pop-up bookshop, where among the shelves of leather-bound books there are hidden surprises for lucky Good Omens fans.

- A Hellhound Puppy Pen filled with adoptable furry friends from Austin Animal Center, alongside a replica of Crowley’s 1926 Bentley.

- Two parties,in partnership with Entertainment Weekly (March 9) and BuzzFeed (March 10)

- Entertainment from magicians, circus performers and tarot card readers

- Musical performances including a Queen covers band and a DJ set from Questlove

- An interactive, life-size chess tournament with Twitch
