AUSTRALIA: Hang Ups Launches On ABC Next Week

Stephen Mangan's improvised comedy Hang Ups will premiere on ABC Comedy from next week, with episodes airing on Tuesday nights from 9.50pm. David Tennant is one of the guest stars in the six-part series which is based on the Emmy-nominated American comedy Web Therapy.

Written by Robert Delamere and Stephen Mangan, Hang Ups is an unconventional comedy about an unconventional therapist trying to keep his life, and patients, from falling apart. Stephen Mangan stars as Dr. Richard Pitt, who is trying to relaunch his career after the disastrous collapse of his group practice. His new form of therapy, carried out via weekly quick-fire webcam sessions, examines a hilariously outrageous catalogue of neuroses, phobias, issues, anxieties and psychopathies - and not all of them belong to his patients!

The regular cast includes Katherine Parkinson, Charles Dance, Karl Theobald, Celia Imrie, Richard E Grant and Jessica Hynes, with guest appearances from Monica Dolan, Sarah Hadland, Lolly Adefope, Alice Lowe and Harry Lloyd.

David Tennant guest stars in the second episode of the series as Martin Lamb, an eerie cloakroom attendant. Martin seeks Richard’s help when the pressure of leaving the cloak room to act as sommelier for the evening becomes too much for him. Perhaps some of Richard’s role-playing techniques might give him the confidence to step up. David's episode airs on Tuesday 5th March, but if you can't wait till then check out an outtake from the show here:
