David Tennant - A Look At What's Ahead For 2019

GOOD OMENS

Good Omens is perhaps David Tennant's biggest project airing in 2019. The hugely anticipated adaptation of the cult fantasy novel, was written by Neil Gaiman in collaboration with the late Sir Terry Pratchett and hits Amazon Prime worldwide in early 2019, with scripts written by Gaiman himself, who also acts as showrunner for the six part series.
Good Omens is a dark, comedic story set in modern day Britain on the brink of the Apocalypse. When a fussy angel, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and a suave demon, Crowley (David Tennant) get wind of the coming of the Antichrist, they join forces to prevent the loss of their comfortable lifestyle on Earth. Throw in a medley of unforgettable characters, some infernal riders, a host of angels, a legion of demons and a gang of unruly kids, and the end of the world will never be funnier! The show also stars Michael McKean, Jack Whitehall, Adria Arjona, Mireille Enos, Nick Offerman and Nina Sosanya.

CAMPING

Whilst many fans across the globe have already seen David's US comedy series Camping, UK fans have been patiently waiting for it to hit their shores. The wait will be over when the Camping gang pitch their tents on Sky Atlantic in early 2019.

David joins Jennifer Garner in the eight episode series from Girls duo Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner and based on the British series of the same name.
The show centres on Kathryn, played by Jennifer Garner.  David takes on the role of Walt, Kathryn's obedient husband, a loving father to their son and the reliable lynchpin of his male social group — but below all that reality lurks a subtle but growing discontent about what he's just signed up for.

The comedy kicks off on Walt's 45th birthday, which was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organized and aggressively controlling wife, Kathryn. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn's meek sister, her holier-than-thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited tag-along in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won't soon be forgotten.

MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS

The much anticipated historical drama Mary Queen Of Scots will premiere in the UK on Friday 18th January.  The Oscar-tipped epic stars Saoirse Ronan as the titular Mary with Margot Robbie as Queen Elizabeth I. David Tennant stars as the outspoken Scottish preacher John Knox.

Mary Queen of Scots is a retelling of the turbulent life of Mary Stuart, written by Beau Willimon based on the book “Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart” by Dr. John Guy. Queen of France at 16, at 18 Mary is widowed, defies pressure to remarry and instead returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. By birth, Mary has a rival claim to the throne of Elizabeth I, who rules as England’s Queen. Contrary to earlier accounts, and based on Dr. John Guy’s research, we see Mary as a capable politician and leader who wanted an alliance with her cousin Elizabeth. Mary fights to govern her unruly kingdom at a time when female monarchs are reviled as monstrous. To secure their thrones, the two Queens make very different choices about marriage and children. Mary’s reputation is under continual attack from her enemies, who construct lies about her sexual conduct. Betrayal, rebellion and conspiracies within each court imperil both Queens – driving them apart, as each woman experiences the bitter cost of power.

The film will also be released worldwide - check dates locally.
