UK viewers outside Scotland will be able to watch David Tennant host an in-depth retrospective of his favourite band for the first time later this evening. The hour long documentary The Proclaimers: This Is The Story was commissioned by BBC Scotland and has previously only aired on BBC Two Scotland in June 2017 and on BBC One Scotland on New Year's Day. The programme will now be shown tonight at 9.00pm GMT on BBC Four.
The Proclaimers: This Is The Story
In 1987, two brothers from Auctermuchty in Fife released an album called This Is the Story. Featuring songs such as Letter From America, the album propelled The Proclaimers and the Scottish accent into the charts.
Superfan David Tennant talks to Craig and Charlie Reid about 30 years in the business which has taken them from playing small pubs and clubs across Scotland to become one of the nation's most iconic bands. The documentary also includes contributions from other Proclaimers fans including Matt Lucas and Muriel Gray.
