Web-based entertainment company Rooster Teeth will be bringing animation fans at New York Comic Con an early look at their brand new animated sci-fi series gen:LOCK next month. The mecha anime, which is heading for a online release early next year, will be showcased alongside the established series RWBY in the Rooster Teeth Mega Panel on Sunday 7th October at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden as part of the NYCC side event Anime Fest @ NYCC.
To access the panel you will need to have a Sunday badge for Anime Fest @ NYCC, which is available here - this will allow access to Anime Fest events at the Javits Center and in offsite venues.
Created by Gray G. Haddock, head of Rooster Teeth Animation,
gen:LOCK is set in a dystopian future where conflict is settled by battles
using giant weaponised robotic armour. Earth’s last free society is on the
losing side of a global war, and recruits a diverse team of young pilots to
control the next generation of mecha. David Tennant voices scientist Dr. Rufus
'Doc' Weller, the leader of the Experimental Science Unit and the inventor of
the 'gen:LOCK' technology. The cast includes Michael B. Jordan, voicing main
character Julian Chase, along with Dakota Fanning as mech pilot Miranda Worth,
Monica Rial and KÅichi Yamadera as new recruit Kazu Iida. gen:LOCK is
co-produced by Jordan through his own company Outlier Society Productions.
The panel will be attended by Gray Haddock, RWBY directors and co-writers Kerry Shawcross and Miles Luna and RWBY and gen:LOCK actor Lindsay Jones.
gen:LOCK will premiere in January 2019 exclusively
on Rooster Teeth's online subscription network FIRST via www.roosterteeth.com. FIRST is
available on a free 30 day trial but then costs $4.99 per month.
