UK PREMIERE: Hang Ups Starts Tonight On Channel 4 At 10pm

The eagerly awaited new comedy series Hang Ups, premieres on Channel 4 tonight at 10pm.

Written by Robert Delamere and Stephen Mangan, Hang Ups is an unconventional comedy about an
unconventional therapist trying to keep his life, and patients, from falling apart.

Stephen Mangan (Episodes, Green Wing) stars as Richard Pitt, a therapist with a chequered professional career, who finds himself at a crossroads in life – a crossroads precipitated by the startling realisation that his life appears to be falling apart at the seams….

Hang Ups presents a family and a society that have the opportunity to be more connected than ever before, but who in reality find themselves utterly disconnected. Time poor and technology rich, self-obsessed and neurotic, image-conscious but insecure, the world is full of hang ups and is it any wonder why…?

In tonight's episode we join Richard on the first day of his new venture where working from home is destined to be chaotic when he has his teenage children, his high flying wife (Katherine Parkinson), his unconventional parents (Charles Dance & Celia Imrie), his eccentric therapist (Richard E Grant), his useless best friend Pete (Karl Theobald) and a whole host of extraordinary clients to contend with.

When a disastrous past decision comes back to haunt him is it any wonder his clients are left wondering who needs therapy more….

David Tennant guest stars in the second episode of the series as Martin Lamb, an eerie cloakroom attendant. Martin seeks Richard’s help when the pressure of leaving the cloak room to act sommelier for the evening becomes too much for him. Perhaps some of Richard’s role-playing techniques might give him the confidence to step up.

The series includes a stellar cast including Richard E. Grant, Jessica Hynes, Katherine Parkinson, Sarah Hadland, Karl Theobald, Celia Imrie, Paul Ritter, Charles Dance, Monica Dolan, Conleth Hill, Lolly Adefope, John Macmillan, Alice Lowe and Harry Lloyd.

Watch Hang Ups at 10pm on Channel 4 tonight.
