VIDEO: First Look At David Tennant In Camping

HBO has released a new video which previews upcoming shows on their network and David Tennant's new comedy series Camping is featured.

The eight part limited series is based on the Sky Atlantic show of the same name created by Julia Davis, who is executive producer on the US version. Camping has been adapted for HBO by Jenni Konner and Lena Dunham and stars David Tennant, Jennifer Garner, Juliette Lewis, Ione Skye, Janicza Bravo, Brett Gelman and Bridget Everett - plus an as yet unannounced star. The series has been shooting on location in California since April and centres on an ill-fated birthday celebration. It wrapped last week.

David Tennant plays Walt  a loving husband and father struggling to contain a mounting discontent for the life he’s built. His 45th birthday was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organized and aggressively controlling wife Kathryn played by Jennifer Garner. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn’s meek sister Carleen (Ione Skye), holier than thou ex-best friend Nina-Joy (Janicza Bravo) and free-spirited tagalong Janice (Juliette Lewis) in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman on woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten. Camping will premiere on HBO in the USA in October. As yet there is no information about any plans to broadcast or stream the series outside the USA.
