David Tennant's Tenth Doctor is one of the Time Lord's incarnations appearing in a new comic book miniseries out this summer. Produced in partnership between Titan Comics and BBC Studios, the three-part series is titled The Road To The Thirteenth Doctor and contains a new adventure starring the Tenth Doctor. It also includes new stories featuring the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors as played onscreen by Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi.
The comics will be released from July and will lead into Titan's new ongoing series The Thirteenth Doctor. This series will launch in the autumn to tie in with Jodie Whittaker's first series in the TV role.
The series will be produced by a number of writers and artists including James Peaty, Rachael Stott and Jody Houser, while cover artists include Robert Hack, who created the Tenth Doctor cover above, as revealed exclusively by Entertainment Weekly earlier today.
According to the official miniseries synopsis, the Tenth Doctor encounters lost, ghostly spaceships, the Eleventh Doctor and Alice visit a robot-infested 19th-century San Francisco, and the Twelfth Doctor finds London’s Piccadilly Circus transformed into a wasteland of emptiness and pterodactyls. In addition, each of the three issues will include a serialised short story from the creative team behind the new Thirteenth Doctor comic series: writer Jody Houser and artists Rachael Stott and Enrica Angiolini.
