David Tennant To Star In New HBO Comedy Camping

David Tennant will be joining the cast of new HBO comedy series Camping. He will join Jennifer Garner in an eight episode series from Girls duo Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner and based on the British series of the same name.

The show centres on Kathryn, played by Jennifer Garner.  David takes on the role of Walt, Kathryn's obedient husband and a loving father to their children, who is the reliable lynchpin of his male social group — but below all that reality lurks a subtle but growing discontent about what he's just signed up for.

The comedy kicks off on Walt's 45th birthday, which was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organized and aggressively controlling wife, Kathryn. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn's meek sister, her holier-than-thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won't soon be forgotten.

Dunham and Konner will executively produce via their HBO-based A Casual Romance production company. Julia Davis, who wrote and directed the original 2016 UK Sky Atlantic series on which the show is based, executively produces for Hush Ho. Christine Langan executively produces for Baby Cow Productions.  Ilene S. Landress and 3 Arts Entertainment's Tom Lassally are also credited as Executive Producers.

The show will go in to production this Spring and will be filmed in LA.
