Watch David Tennant On Sky Arts Portrait Artist Of The Year Tonight

David Tennant will be sitting as a model as his likeness is committed to canvas in the new series of Sky Arts Portrait Artist Of The Year which starts tonight. Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell begin the search for a new star portrait artist for 2018, which sees a new cohort of painters compete for a £10,000 commission for a major British institution and £500 worth of art materials from Cass Art.

David is one of the celebrity sitters for the first show of the new series, in which the competitors have just four hours to create a portrait of three stars. The episode was filmed at the Wallace Collection at Hertford House, Marylebone in April 2017 and David was joined for the heat by Michael Coel, the creator and star of Channel 4 sitcom Chewing Gum, and singer-songwriter James Morrison.

Watch Episode 1 of Sky Arts Portrait Artist Of The Year 2018 tonight on Sky Arts from 8pm.
