Baby Lifeline Announced As Official Charity Partner For You, Me And Him

Baby Lifeline has today announced that it is the official charity partner for David Tennant's new film, You, Me And Him.

=Baby Lifeline grew from modest beginnings in Coventry. Former nurse Judy Ledger founded the organisation in 1981, driven by the experience of losing three premature babies, in order to raise funds for a single neonatal incubator for Coventry's Neonatal Unit. Since then the charity has spread and now offers charitable funding to units nationally. Baby Lifeline has raised over £10 million to help purchase specialist equipment and provide training. However it is still a sad fact that 1 in 154 babies are either stillborn or die within 7 days of birth, and 42% of all claims against the NHS are made against maternity departments. Baby Lifeline hopes to reduce these numbers significantly. Judy has told us that the Government is now listening to their concerns, putting money into hospitals and pledging to train 6000 health professionals.

David  is an ambassador for the charity's Monitoring For Mums appeal.
David says of his role as ambassador:
"It is unthinkable that any child might die that has a chance at life. Baby Lifeline strives to make sure every new baby has all the facilities, care and opportunity they deserve.
Nothing is more important than new life. Please help this amazing charity to do all they can to give the next generation the safest and best possible start."

Judy Ledger the Founder and Chief Executive of Baby Lifeline says "We are so proud to be linked with this wonderful film; strong themes close to Baby Lifeline’s heart and work are intertwined with hilarious and sad moments, and we are so excited to be a part of such an exciting production. We can’t wait for you to see it! Thank you to Bad Penny Productions for choosing Baby Lifeline."

You, Me And Him tells the story of two women’s differing experiences with pregnancy. One, Alex, played by Lucy Punch,  is a 40-year-old magistrate, the other, Olivia, played by Faye Marsay, is a carefree party girl. The twist is that they are in a relationship with each other. The action unfolds over a 12 month timeframe. David Tennant plays the role of the couple’s neighbour, John, a  Casanova style character who is responsible for one of the pregnancies.
Other cast members include Nina Sosanya, Sarah Parish, Simon Bird, David Warner, Gemma Jones, Sally Philips and Don Warrington.

The film is written and directed by Daisy Aitkens and produced by Bad Penny Productions' Georgia Tennant, Phin Glynn and Harriet Hammond.

Phin Glynn, Managing Director and Producer at Bad Penny Productions adds:
"Baby Lifeline is a charity very close to my heart – there was no question about making them our official charity partner. They carry out such incredible, life-saving work that we’re delighted to help raise awareness of such a fantastic cause."
