Airing as part of Channel 4's Rise of the Robots season, this fascinating and warm-hearted look at the future of robotics that is unlike anything we've seen before. Many humans have a cultural fear of robots, but eccentric Canadian robot inventor and puppeteer David McGoran hopes to fix this by making a new kind of machine that moves like we do: a loveable robot that even people on the street will open up to. Adopting the same style used in movies by Disney and Pixar, McGoran designs a robot that anyone would believe and trust and even welcome into their lives. But the real test comes when the new robot is left on the streets of Bristol and programmed to find out more about humans. The robot films its own extraordinary adventure, as it tries to connect with us in a whole new way. Can the robot convince people it's real? Will people be brave enough to open up to it?

How To Build A Robot airs on Channel 4 on Wednesday 29th November at 10.35pm

Also, if yu can get to Bristol on Monday 27th Navember, then why not Rusty Squid's Facebook competition to win a pair of tickets to the world premiere of the documentary.
