US: DuckTales Total Views At Nearly 50 Million Since Double Episode Series Launch




Disney ABC Television has revealed that the Disney XD show DuckTales is their Number One animated series in two and a half years! The show has amassed nearly 50 million views to date in the categories of Kids 2-11 and Boys 2-11 since the double-episode series launch on September 23rd. 

Total TV viewers for the US launch numbered 662,000, including Kids 2-11 (311,000/0.8 rating), and Kids 6-11 (164,000/0.7 rating).In addition, 40% of kids watched the premieres with an Adult 18-49. Only the premieres of Star vs. The Forces of Evil in March 2015 and LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures in June 2016 have rated higher on the channel.

The nearly 50 million Total Views so far amassed by the show include 26 million Total Viewers via linear TV, 20 million video views across key social media platforms (led by YouTube with 14 million), and over 2 million views to date across Disney XD VOD, the Disney XD App and the Disney Channel App. 

DuckTales features and all-star cast led by David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, with Danny Pudi as Huey, Ben Schwartz as Dewey, Bobby Moynihan as Louie, Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley and Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck. Other guest cast will include Catherine Tate as Magica de Spell, Kimiko Glenn as Lena and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, aka Gizmoduck. 

Featuring a distinct animation style inspired by the classic Carl Barks’comic designs, DuckTales chronicles the high-flying adventures of Duckburg’s most famous trillionaire, Scrooge McDuck; his mischief-making triplet grandnephews – Huey, Dewey and Louie; temperamental nephew, Donald Duck; and the trusted McDuck Manor team: big-hearted, fearless chauffer/pilot Launchpad McQuack; no-nonsense housekeeper Mrs. Beakley; and Mrs. Beakley’s granddaughter, Webby Vanderquack, resident adventurer and the triplet’s newfound fierce friend. The show is executive produced by Annie Award-nominee Matt Youngberg with Francisco Angones serving as co-producer and story editor, and Sean Jimenez as art director. The series is a production of Disney Television Animation. 

This year, DuckTales will be seen in 34 languages in 162 countries on Disney XD channels and Disney Channels worldwide.
