GOOD OMENS: The Horsemen Of The Apocalypse Mount Up For New David Tennant Series



More cast additions have been announced for Good Omens, the upcoming adaptation of the comic novel of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. David Tennant and Michael Sheen will star in the series that sees a fast living demon called Crowley and a fussy angel called Aziraphale trying to avert the Apocalypse. 

The producers have now announced three of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Joining the cast are Mireille Enos (World War Z, The Killing) as War, Lourdes Faberes (Knightfall, Holby City) as Pollution and Yusuf Gatewood (The Originals, CSI Miami) as Famine. 

Neil Gaiman, who scripted the series said, "We are hoping that Death will be played by…DEATH."

Also added to the cast is Anna Maxwell Martin (Philomena, Death Comes To Pemberley) who will play the demon Beelzebub. Neil Gaiman said of her casting, “We already have a stellar cast, and now Anna Maxwell Martin will be the Beelzebub of our dreams. Well, nightmares.”

Previously confirmed cast members include Adria Arjona (Anathema Device), Nina Sosanya (Sister Mary Loquacious), Jack Whitehall (Newt), Michael McKean (Shadwell), Miranda Richardson (Madame Tracy), Daniel Mays (Arthur Young), Sian Brookes (Deirdre Young), Sam Taylor Buck (Adam Young) Ned Dennehy (Hastur), Ariyon Bakare (Ligur), Josie Lawrence (Agnes Nutter) and John Hamm (Gabriel).


The six-part series is a commission for BBC Two and Amazon Prime and is currently shooting in the UK, directed by Douglas Mackinnon. The series is being co-produced by the comedy team at BBC Studios, Narrativia and the Blank Corporation in association with BBC Worldwide, who are also handling international distribution. It will launch worldwide on Amazon in early 2019 with a later broadcast on BBC Two.
