UK TV: Watch David Tennant On Billy Connolly & Me: A Celebration Tonight



David Tennant is among a whole host of stars lined up to pay tribute to the much loved Scottish comedian Billy Connolly in a new ITV show. Billy, with whom David starred in the 2014 movie What We Did On Our Holiday, is marking his 50th year in showbusiness this year.

The programme, Billy Connolly & Me: A Celebration, is narrated by Suranne Jones and will be broadcast on ITV at 9pm tonight.
As well as David, other stars who have sent their tributes include Elton John, Peter Kay, Dame Judi Dench, Eric Idle and Andy Murray, while Billy’s wife Pamela Stephenson talks about life with Billy from their new Florida home.

There will also be contributions from members of the public, Billy's fans from all around the world, who have sent in video messages of their memories of the 'Big Yin' to share their extraordinary stories about how Billy has amused, inspired and influenced them. From students to pensioners, from Scotland to Qatar, Billy's public tell heartening, emotional tales of how he helped them find love, give birth, change career, tackle obstacles and even come to terms with their disabilities.

The one-hour special features classic clips alongside new and unseen performance footage, fan revelations and star stories plus a brand-new major interview with the man himself, recording his reaction to the fans’ stories, along with reflections on such topics as turning swearing into an art form and the underestimated power of laughter.
