David Tennant is among the famous faces supporting the #1in4 campaign, part of the BBC's Minds Matter season. The campaign aims to break through the stigma associated with mental illness and make it easier to talk about mental health.
Stars from the world of music, film, theatre and TV, also including
Olivia Colman, Tom Hardy and Kristen Bell, are taking part in the BBC
initiative by posting selfies holding up four fingers with the hashtag #1in4.
The celebrities are sharing words of solidarity, many from
personal experience, with the hope of encouraging their fans and followers to
do the same. Others, including BBC Radio 1 breakfast DJ Nick Grimshaw, are also
sharing short videos in which they share their own stories, and encourage
anyone with concerns about mental health to speak out and seek help.
The Minds Matter season is made up of a range of programmes
across television and radio, including Mind Over Marathon and The Truth About
Stress on BBC One; Horizon: No Such Thing As Schizophrenia on BBC Two; and
Being Black, Going Crazy on BBC Three. More details about the season can be
found here.
You can show your support and share your thoughts using the hashtag #1in4.
