Mad To Be Normal, written and directed by Laing's biographer Robert Mullan, is based on the period in the late 1960s when Laing opened the controversial anti-psychiatry facility at Kingsley Hall in London where patients experiencing psychosis and staff lived together as equals. Co-starring Elisabeth Moss, Michael Gambon and Gabriel Byrne, the film goes on general release on Thursday 6th April.
