David Tennant was featured briefly on BBC Scotland News this morning where he spoke about his new film Mad To Be Normal which premiered on Glasgow last night.

In spite of the ongoing coronavirus crisis, filming has continued on David Tennant's latest project, Around The World In 80 Days, with a completion date now in sight. Following a nine-month shutdown due to the pandemic, filming finally resumed in November and continues into 2021. Speaking to Variety , Lionel Uzen, CEO of production company Federation Entertainment, has said that, with luck, the production should wrap in the next four weeks, though the need for testing and increased safety measures has put more pressure on the already complicated international shoot. In the eight-part series David stars as Phileus Fogg who, with his valet, Passepartout, played by rising French actor Ibrahim Koma, takes on the legendary journey of circumnavigating the globe in just 80 days following an outrageous bet. David Tennant's lockdown comedy Staged was the surprise hit of the year. The series stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen as fictionalised versions of themselves and was created by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn. It was filmed during lockdown using self-tape and video conferencing techniques. The show was written by Evans, who also co-starred along with Georgia Tennant and Anna Lundberg as the director of a play starring Michael and David. With the play on hold due to the coronavirus epidemic, Simon tries to convince his cast to carry on rehearsals over the internet, but is hampered by ego clashes, boredom, home-schooling and fall-outs with neighbours. Fans in the UK can watch the original series over on BBC iPlayer or an extended version with previously unseen footage is also available on Netflix. More details have been released about the upcoming DVD released of Staged, including a first look at its cover art. The hit lockdown comedy show was written and directed by Simon Evans and stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen as exaggerated versions of themselves. The double-disc release will include extended episodes of both series of Staged along with exclusive outtakes.
